On the July 22 "deadline" for solving the US debt crisis, House Speaker Boehner abandoned negotiations, and President Obama might have sung these lyrics to the tune of TOS from Rodgers & Hart's 1930s musical Evergreen.
The world's hysterical

Has wrought high government spree.
So to some other place, investors flee.
Far Right guys keep their oath [2]
To sever leaping growth.

I just read that on May 16, the Treasury "found" $232 billion using "extraordinary measures" and that pushed the deadline to August 2. Now they found $14 billion more revenue than projected. That's good for 3 or 4 days!
BJM - I'm just grateful that Geithner and Obama are re-assuring the American public and the world! Great OS and fine BJM sentiments. ;D
