"Dr. Seuss Replies To TJC"

Parody Written by:

Tommy Turtle

The Lyrics

It took a while, especially since he's dead, but Dr. Seuss finally replies to TJC's parody of his works.

Said TJ, the DJ, a writer, the best,
"I'm tired. I'm bored. So I *must* anapest!"
From Yertle and Tommy, his plaudit arrives
With flippers, they flip him -- the bird? No, three Fives!

Pun wish; two, dish
Read this, crude-ish
Bold-ish, new twist
Fun switch, you dish

This pun gets a golden star
This pun, Sir, is quite bizarre
Say, what a lot of puns there are!

Some were sad, and some were glad
And some were very, very bad!
Why are they sad and glad and bad?
'Cause TJC is really rad!

His parody, it rolls and rocks
His parody, it gives me yocks
His song brings lots of laughs to me
I really like it, TJC!

[Interlude]
Which will be little consolation when my estate's lawyer Seuss the sh*t out of you! You'll be sleeping homeless on Mulberry Street!

Look what we found in the park in the dark!
This is TJC! Poor and naked, stark!
Foreclosed out of his house
Where now can he go?
Will Ms. TJ like it? I'll bet, "No!"

Did you ever write this blight in bed?
Does a "PET scan" show cats in hats in your head?
Do your readers laugh and have a cow?
You can do it well, and how!

If you never read TJ, you should
His songs are fun, and fun is good

Who am I? My name's TJ
And people laugh at what I say
My wit is bright; my lines delight
I am the star of AmIRight!

And when my songs appear, it's clear:
I am a punning pioneer!

From blare to cheer, from leer to bare
TJ's funny everywhere!

The fact that the author remembered enough of the originals to write the above without consulting them is kind of scary, especially since he can't remember where he put the pen that he set down twenty seconds ago. Sure sign of Oldtimer's Disease.

You know, Tommy Turtle, maybe you should be the author of children's books. I like the guy and my fave Seuss books as a kid are Green Eggs and Ham, Hop on Pop (which still makes me laugh after all those years), and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. 555's for this one!

And what happened then…?
Well… in AIR-ville they say
That TJ’s small ego
Grew three sizes that day!

OMG!! Thou flattereth too, tewe much, TT (though, of course, I’m tickled right down to the snuv of my groovulous glove)—thank you! (I’ve got to admit though, my U.S.S.R. *was* inspired by your classic, “Back In The Ewe’s Ass You Are’—which will likely ne’er be topped!)

But, now, lets get to the crux of your magnificent bash’stardization—your self-admitted: “The fact that the author remembered enough of the originals to write the above without consulting them is kind of scary…”
Scary? Holy Bejezus! That action’s straight outta the exorcist (your second ‘T’ stands for ‘tDamien’, right?)!

At any rate, you should be extra careful… for, when ewe least expect it, someone may just requipulate n’ hit ya upside the head with something like this:

TT, savant is he—That's not a jest, son...
Whether this 'juglar-of-rhyme-n'-bluff'er 'e'-flings us AIRrows of sagacious forethought
Or trou-snake charms us (hence the seizured giggles), stand thy applause—it tends him
Ewe wry, ewe bleet—All fours!--
Et’threatera, et’threatera…

Mark Scotti: It was my pleasure to pay those dues! Thanks for v/c, Mark!

Christie Marie M: To the best of my memory, 1 Fish 2 Fish was the first book I ever read by myself (at age 3). Loved Seuss -- then moved on to harder stuff -- which made school sorta boring, with Dick & Jane & Co. ... Still remember Seuss, can't remember any of Dick/Jane, which says a lot :) ... thanks for the suggestion, but I think I enjoy the "adult" audience (in more ways than one mwahaha). Thanks for v/c!

Fiddlegirl:
So, do you play the violin?
And is a fiddle not its twin?
Nice compliment your wit'll hurl
Thank you, thank you, Fiddlegirl!

TJC: The "crux" of the Exorcist? Oh yeah, I would so love to have been Linda Blair's crux! hehe. ... can't wait for the rest of that ditty from Whoville (AIRville's neighboring hamlet) to requipulate! (TT *loves* requipulation, but don't tell anyone, OK?)

Glad to have gotten that nasty Grinch's hold off of your highly-deserving ego. Say hello to Cindy Lou Who for me.

alvin: thanks ... fun write, glad ya enjoyed!

We had a restaurant here in town that served green eggs and ham. Then the Health Department closed them down. I'm trying to remember where I was in July of 2009 to have missed this gem.

Patrick: It would depend on whether the green was from "harmless" food coloring, to go along with the book, or from actual spoilage....

TT posted ten other songs in July 2009, so .... ;-D b Seriously, thanks for taking the time to read and comment on this oldie.
