Original Song Title:

"It's a Small World"

Original Performer:

Disney

Parody Song Title:

"It's a Small World ( my version )"

Parody Written by:

Red Ant

The Lyrics

I went to Disney World once along time ago and had a great time, with 2 exceptions: The LONG car ride there and back, and the ride " It's a Small World ". Apparently I'm not the only person who regrets that hour of their life ( waiting in line+ride time ). Almost every parent that I saw when I got off of that ride was regretting that hour as well. The chorus intentionally doesn't pace, because there is no way I can convey in so few words what this song means to me.
It's a world of long lines, a world of cheers
But it's a song that I don't want to hear
There's so much to be seen
A weeks pass you will need
It's Disney World after all ( but )

It's an aweful song that annoyed us all
It's an aweful song that annoyed us all
It's an aweful song that annoyed us all
It's an aweful, aweful song

Florida's Disneys
Not the only one
Disney in France
Is basically done
Damn 40 hour ride
Along I-95
To see great Disney World (but )

( bore us, uh I mean chorus )

It's an aweful song that annoyed us all
It's an aweful song that annoyed us all
It's an aweful song that annoyed us all
It's an aweful, aweful song

( repeat chorus as long as possible, then regret it )

I can sympathize. My wife and I went to EPCOT once, and after being shuffled around onto and off of rides by electronic voices, my wife said that she felt like a " Tron ".

Just realized that "aweful" is from Middle English, that it is just "awful" now. PS-Looked in my dictionary for a definition of this word and got this: Awful ( adj.) 1: Extremely bad or unpleasant. 2: Terrible, horrible, dreadful, appalling. 3: The song " It's a Small World" ( ok, part 3 was ammended by myself )

I loved the Bore Us part.

"It's an aweful song that annoyed us all" has too many syllables compared to the original verse "It's a small world after all." The fact that I know this disturbs me greatly, BELIEVE ME. Alas, I must give you a "3" for pacing because this is your main chorus we are talking about (I am sorry about that). I do think it deserves higher than a "5" for being extremely funny, but 5 is as high as the scoring can go. Average out "pacing" and "funny" and you get a "4" for your over all effort.
Red Ant - March 20, 2005 - Report this comment
I understand the 354 vote Kim, but in the foreword I said that I intentionally did that to the chorus because there are too few words in it to express my disgust in this song. Also, as a few have pointed out to me, average doesn't have to be an overall of pacing and funny. I have given a few 515's, and some other odd votes on songs where ( in the funny category especially ) where it was very not funny, but paced perfectly and excellent overall message. I do appreciate your honest vote on this though. :)

been in the queue, been on the ride, hated the song, threw up at the saccharine sweetness, regretted the lost hour, yep, all true - I read your preamble, Red Ant, about your pacing decision, and because your line still fits into the rhythm of the original, it doesn't bother me at all - I've had this argument before - funniness shouldn't be compromised to get exact syllable pacing, if you can still easily sing it over the original, which in this case you can - I had doubts whether you'd parodied the whole song, but I don't know the OS well enough, and it's such a bad song, I reckon (and hope) it is that short - 555 from me
Lee Rasiel - March 20, 2005 - Report this comment
I agree with you Red Ant, this song is annoying the first time I liked it but after hearing the annoying voices I started hating that song.
Red Ant - March 20, 2005 - Report this comment
This song is only this long, so all the lyrics are there, it just repeats to infinity while on this ride. The only part I could remember was "It a Small world after all". PS--Thank you for reading the preamble to the parody and the 555.
Red Ant - March 21, 2005 - Report this comment
Thanks Matthias, Stewart, and Lee.
Dominic L. - May 06, 2005 - Report this comment
455, Maybe you could have said "It's so awful, it annoyed us all".. Still a little long, but closer to the original. Good job, though
Red Ant - May 07, 2005 - Report this comment
Thanks Dominic L. Yeah, I could have shortened it up, but I prefer to sing* it about 20% faster to " make " it pace. in the chorus.

*That being said, I if ever catch myself singing TOS I would check into a mental ward.

Thanks too Johnny D.

(ABC05)Cute, Ant, and depicts the yuckiness of the OS. I liked the line 'bore us'. too 5's

ABC I - making parodies to catchy yet annoying songs is dangerous since the song can invade the mind of the writer and reader. Still fairly well written, but a bit too short to be a great parody without being more clever.
Agrimorfee - July 06, 2005 - Report this comment
(ABC05) You heard it before, but that chorus is paced off. "This here song annoyed us all" would have been perfect to my ears.
Red Ant - July 06, 2005 - Report this comment
Thanks Rich Kapalin and Adagio. Thanks Ethan, I understand and only had a few "I's" to choose from. Better this parody invade your mind than TOS. Thanks as well Agrimorfee, and not only have I heard it before I wrote in in the foreword.

(ABC) Just wanted to add that I liked your version better than the redundant original!

ABC--and to think that I'm looking forward to visiting Disneyland in two weeks...=) Nice job, Red Ant...thanks for catching the "aweful" spelling thing...I didn't want to have to lay the smack down...; )
Red Ant - July 07, 2005 - Report this comment
Thanks Arwen. You should have no problems there so long as you avoid this ride. And thanks again Rich.
Mikey Squirrel - July 07, 2005 - Report this comment
(ABC) I can practically see those old dillapitated marionettes wearily singing this song. Way to strike at Disney! Tri-Fives.
Jake A Ralphing (Luke Brattoni) - July 08, 2005 - Report this comment
Did you leave the ride feeling nauseous, with Disney spells? Funny stuff, Red Ant.
Kristof Robertson - July 08, 2005 - Report this comment
(ABC) I totally agree with the sentiment, Antman...but I, too, am going to have to dock you for pacing, despite your explanation. 344
Red Ant - July 08, 2005 - Report this comment
Thanks Mikey Jake and Kristof. And no problem on the pacing dock on this Kristof, not one of my better works anyway.

Well. I can't agree with your sentiment, but I still love you. Someday, you will love Small World. Yes you will. After all. ;)
Wild Child JIN - August 11, 2010 - Report this comment
I just did a parody of this song today called "This song drives me up the wall" and if you count the original syllables in the words "It's a small world after all" you will find that "after" is the only 2 syllable word in the title. Making the title either a 6 word title if after is pronounced as 1 word(syllable) or 7 if pronounced as 2 worlds(syllables) such as in my title too. Although in my title after would be 2 syllables due to the fact that I use all five words + the 2 syllables in af-ter. :-) but I will give you a 4 for pacing and a 5 for the rest. ;-)
