Parody Song Title:

"Gin Is Hell"

Parody Written by:

John A. Barry

The Lyrics

From the Web: Believe it or not Jingle Bells, one of the most famous American Christmas songs, was originally written for Thanksgiving! The author and composer of Jingle Bells was a minister called James Pierpoint who composed the song in 1857 for children celebrating his Boston Sunday School Thanksgiving. The song was so popular that it was repeated at Christmas, and indeed Jingle Bells has been reprised ever since. The essence of a traditional Christmas is captured in the lyrics of Jingle Bells and the sound effects using the bells have become synonymous with the arrival of Father Christmas or Santa Claus to the delight of children of all ages!
A dash and no mo'
Of vermouth—keep it at bay.
Lemon peel for show.
Quaffing every day.

Belt down a hog-size drink,
Taking spirits right.
What fun to see pachyderms pink—
My braying throng's boozed sight.

Oh,
Gin is swell, gin is swell,
Gin mills are OK.
Oh what fun to dine and drink.
Some hors d'oeuvre are on the way-ay.

Gin is swell, gin is swell,
Drier than Tokay.
What fun to imbibe and drink.
We get hoarse because we bray.

Bombay is just so-so
For martinis so dry.
Tanqueray is just right,
But both will get you high.

Bad gin is really rank,
And you won't feel so hot,
But it's a cheap way to get tanked
If, like us, you're a sot.

Oh,
Gin is swell, gin is swell,
Drier than Tokay.
What fun to imbibe and drink,
Send another pour my way.

But,
Gin is hell, gin is hell
The following day.
I am stunned when I arise
And next to me a horse neighs.

LOL! I'm also a fan of Tanqueray. And I enjoyed the little known factiod about the song being originally written for Thanksgiving. I had no idea...
