My nerves are shattered, all of the mornings
Steel nerves are broken, feel like a nerd.
Hands I am wringing, and I have warning
I will be ailing, not from this world.

Sweet is the roll call, e'en though I'm craven
I am all enthralled, though out I pass.
Dazed now with sweatness, I am all sodden
Done in by weakness, fall on the grass.

I look all uptight, my ears are ringing,
Bored I am not quite, 'til then I pray.
Praise the Franciscans, pray all the morning,
"God's recreation of the new day."
