Original Performer:

Cast of 'Oz' (Harold Arlen)

Parody Song Title:

"Off to See the Doctor"

Parody Written by:

Rick Duncan

This is from a complete irreverent parody of the MGM movie "The Wizard of Oz", renamed "The Doctor of Snooze"
Weeee're off to see the doctor
The wonderful Doctor of Snooze
We've heard the flock say he's a great doc
We both want to get his views
If ever or never you have to choose
The Doctor of Snooze will give you clues
Good news, good news, he never sues, he'll lose
The Doctor of Snooze is into booze
We're off to see the doctor
We hope that he's here to amuse

Rick - Short, but well done. I had to think about it a bit because it IS so short, but it's pretty funny and paced well. So I "Five'd" this one. Are you doing the entire "Wizard" soundtrack as a project? Now as pieces of complete work I can kind of get into the concept enough to check it out.

Yeah Paul. I did the whole movie. If you'd like to read it, I'll send you the whole thing. It makes more sense in context, these were among the first things I put on the site, so I didn't have the "hang" of it yet. Thus not much notice, people didn't get it. There is a drunken performance of it, with songs, but it's pretty primitive.

Rick - Yeah, sure. That would be great. It's a little difficult and awkward to read it part-by-part on the "amiright" screens and then have to move to the next parody. A drunken performance, eh? Well it couldn't have been THAT bad or you probably would have taped over it by now. I've still got the same e-mail address so whenever you want to send it feel free. You know, I bet something pretty interesting could be put together by picking or locating a theme on this site and finding a way to make the works flow together into a mid-length piece. Easy for me to say off the top of my demented head, right? Thanks, pr...
