| Original Song Title: | "Silver Bells" |
| Original Performer: | Bing Crosby |
| Parody Song Title: | "No One Tells" |
| Parody Written by: | Duffy |
Whatever happened to Christmas?
No one tells, no one tells
Presents are all kept a secret
Wrap 'em good like you should
Soon it will be Christmas day!
In October, next to costumes
We saw evergreen trees
Gaily decked out with tinsel
and bright lights
Masks of witches
Masks of devils
You could purchase along
with a porcelain Nativity!
Christmas sells, Christmas sells
Young eyes light up when they spy the
Ornaments, peppermints
and popcorn just for the tree
For Thanksgiving,
Buy your turkey
with a nice leafy wreath
And the pine smell competes
With the dinner
Both are so good
Only one should
Be detected Thursday
But still after the football
you hear:
Ringing bells, Goodwill yells
Urging the shoppers to dig deep
Throw a lot in their pot
Soon it will be Christmas Day!
Haven't we had Christmas Day?
Presents are all kept a secret
Wrap 'em good like you should
Soon it will be Christmas day!
In October, next to costumes
We saw evergreen trees
Gaily decked out with tinsel
and bright lights
Masks of witches
Masks of devils
You could purchase along
with a porcelain Nativity!
Christmas sells, Christmas sells
Young eyes light up when they spy the
Ornaments, peppermints
and popcorn just for the tree
For Thanksgiving,
Buy your turkey
with a nice leafy wreath
And the pine smell competes
With the dinner
Both are so good
Only one should
Be detected Thursday
But still after the football
you hear:
Ringing bells, Goodwill yells
Urging the shoppers to dig deep
Throw a lot in their pot
Soon it will be Christmas Day!
Haven't we had Christmas Day?

Yup! 5's
Didn't have der Bingle's version handy for the pacing, but the lyric was so good, I had to give you 5's. For good little girls and boys, Santa recommends the Bob Hope Christmas classic, "Lemon Drop Kid", on DVD. It features the original version of "Silver Bells" - the only place you'll ever hear the song complete with it's various setups and bridges. There's also a parody of it, sung in the film by William Frawley, of "I Love Lucy" fame. Santa o-pines, STUFF "Bad Santa", and treat yourself to a classic Christmas comedy, where creative comedy writing (courtesy of Damon Runyon) abounds - and to all a good night.
I like how you tossed the football in! :-D
