Song Parodies -> Till There Was Brew

Original Song Title:

"Till There Was You"

Original Performer:

Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"Till There Was Brew"

Parody Written by:

Rick Duncan

Yes, I know It's from "The Music Man" by Meridith Wilson and was a hit for Anita Bryant in '59, but most of us learned it from the Beatles
There was dust on the floor
That I never put my face in
No, I never fell to the ground
Till there was brew

There was gum 'neath the stool
That I never saw a trace of
No I never saw it at all
Till there was brew

Then there were lampposts
That popped up in front of my Audi
And I with blurred vision
Saw one and two

There were girls all around
Whom I could rid the place of
By acting just I do
When there is brew

(Stumbling, crashing sounds)

Till there was brew

Were you having a bit o' brew when you typed this one in? But seriously very good.

Excellent, Rick. Always on the lookout for a good Beatles parody. Nice and simple, and amusing to boot.

Another "slammed" dunk from Slam Duncan.

Rick --- I kid you not, my wife Mary and I are going to see a performance of "The Music Man" tonight at Theatre III, an excellent community theatre company in Acton, Massachusetts (a town that borders our home town of Concord, MA). This parody is short & sweet & neat. (SHAMELESS NON-PARODY PLUG ALERT) BTW, I will be playing Jacob Marley in Theatre III's next show, "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens.
