Parody Song Title:

"Mcdonalds Takeaway"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

I know a place I once eschewed
Where what they serve is something you'd
Be quite hard-pressed to think it "food"
It's called... Mcdonalds Takeaway... OK

Their advertising's aimed at kids
They claim it's not - we know it is
So children think that's it's the biz
They love... Mcdonalds Takeaway... OK

You may choose the burger meal, the picture it belies
You may see the biggest Macs or anything with fries
But when they serve up what you ordered, don't dismay
I guarantee... it isn't free
Later you'll pay

The grease is starting to congeal
Is this intended to appeal?
Then why's it called a Happy Meal?
High Fat... Mcdonalds Takeaway... OK

Your burger's gone, your meal complete
But when you get back to your feet
You feel that meal start to repeat
Too late... Mcdonalds Takeaway... OK

Up to your usual standard, Phil (i.e. bloody good). I've just seen this song performed on stage...and then went for a Big Mac....did'nt make the connection....d'oh!

Phil, there is a documentary about to be released over here about a guy who ate nothing but McD's food for a month with a camera crew following him around. He could only eat what was on the menu and if they said "Would you like to supersize that?", he had to say yes. He gained 30 pounds and his health went to hell. A doctor checking him out during this time was shocked at his rapid decline. Right after news of this film being made broke, McD's abandoned their "Supersize" policy. I hope it wins the Oscar.

Haven't you heard that McDonald's is serving healthier meals? If you think they're bad try Bugger(sic) King. That is the place to go for bad meals. I hope they shape up.

Excellent! 555. "Pajama Game" was the first musical I did (in my senior year of High School). I was only in the chorus. (Later in college I had a small part in "Oklahoma" and Jacey Squires, 1st Tenor in the Barbershop Quartet in "Music Man.") But, alas, after weeks of practice I was never to sing and dance on stage in High School. The bad news: I dropped out two nights before opening night so I could spend my evenings making out with this hot chick. The good news: I've been married to that hot chick for 27 years! Thanks for the memories!! Great job!

Hilarious! I love how your phrases often spill beyond the rhyming word into the following line -- I like to do that. Your bridge section seems abbreviated, but I could be wrong, or thinking of another version. Anyway, 5-5-5!

Sorry, JD, I don't do low-fat...
Leo - I still haven't managed to find an MP3, and although I know the original verse structure, I had to go with the lyrics I got for the bridge. It fits those (of course ;-) ). And thanks for the compliment, too.
Pooch - this seems an odd sort of song to be reviving quarter-century-old memories.. does this mean you'll be singing this one, though?
TC - Is BK worse than McD in the States? It's definitely the other way round here (for a start, the burgers actually seem to have something which, with a little imagination, might be thought of as "meat")
Rick - Is he going to sue? ;-)
