The Lyrics

My wife's got plans
So I make dinner with my own hands
I hate when I'm home alone
Oh, no, there goes a burnt batch of sloppy joes
I hate when I'm home alone

Well I think I'm gonna starve if I keep this up
I had a good batch of soup till I dropped the whole cup
Well if the food would just behave
When in the Microwave
But the bread is too soggy
Pizza's too hard

I tried with no luck
Boiling potatoes takes a master's touch
I hate when I'm home alone

When I cook, they always burn
Don't know if I'll ever learn
I hate when I'm home alone
I can't eat, it's no good
And I don't know why I thought I could
I hate when I'm home alone

Well I swear I'd get an 'F' in a Home Ec class
And the teacher'd probably ban me from cooking with gas
I tried to BBQ some dogs
In our own backyard
But the heat from the charcoals
Caught me off guard

I'm burning things that shouldn't burn
This cooking task I should just return
I hate when I'm home alone

A cracked plate
A blackened grate
My dinner's coming way too late
I hate when I'm home alone
I hate when I'm home alone

This was good. The "I had a good batch of soup till I dropped the whole cup" line was especially funny to me since last night, after re-heating a bowl of chili in the microwave, I tripped and dumped (more like threw) the entire contents all over the floor, fridge, and wife, narrowly missing the cat.
