The Lyrics

Sigh...
(The crosses of St George are lying all around me)
(Frank Lampard, the whole of England is with you)
(Oh it's saved (once), saved (twice), saved (and we're out))
It's time to leave
It's time to leave
It's time to leave

They're coming home
They're coming home
They're leaving
England's coming home

They're coming home
They're coming home
They're leaving
England's coming home

Lost it on penalties, again
So much for bloody Sven
We played better with ten

Perhaps next time we're
Going to strive
Harder, going to thrive
Even going to dive
But now we're minging

Three lions in the dirt
Ericsson pathetic
Paycheck doesn't hurt
Unapologetic...

Telly's on: England's coming home
Though we won in Cologne
Our best chance had been blown
And now I see Crouch doing sod all
Owen taking a fall
Rooney starting to brawl
And Walcott..dreaming?

Front line so inert
Ericsson impassive
Never played the squirt
Though his paycheck's massive

Why'd they play so piss-poor?
Why'd they so rarely score?

They're coming home
They're leaving
England's coming home

They're coming home
They're coming home
They're leaving
England's coming home

They're coming home
They're coming home
They're leaving
England's coming home

They're coming home
They're coming home
They're leaving
England's coming home

Three lions in the dirt
Ericsson ain't grieving
Now he's free to flirt
Thank the lord he's leaving...

hahaha This is awesome, and true as hell. Controversial though, but still funny!

A copy of this should be nailed to the foreheads of all those at the FA...

Excellent, Mr Alexander...I've been waiting for a World Cup parody from you.
Ronaldo had to
Go and butt in
Rooney paid for his sin
Pundits said you would win
Not bloody likely!

Well, Kristof, I was always planning on doing this song as a World Cup parody, but I didn't know what it was going to be (if you see what I mean).
Sorry, Jason... but there's always Euro '08
Nick - thanks :-)
Paul - I'd be happy with "tattooed" :-)

DKTOS, but I do know that Portugal was the better team that day. Although beaten, not disgraced.

I sympathise, Phil - and I'm not a soccer fan but gee those arbitrary ref's decisions seem to play a huge part in so many of the outcomes - 555

Michael - thing is, Portugal were marginally better than we were playing as well as they could, while we barely got out of first gear. Hell, once Rooney (in theory our best player) had been sent off, we had the best of the chances in the rest of the match. Funny game, football.
Stu - Too many matches this world cup were decided on dodgy decisions (so, no change there...). I thought the Italian penalty against Oz was a case in point; having said that, the semi-finals were exemplars of what good refereeing should be: fair, almost completely accurate and unmoved by certain cheating ****ers trying to influence the ref...
