"New Me"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Originally by the Meat Puppets, track #11 from the Unplugged CD.
(intro)

Oh I almost lost my mind..
Tell you what I was feeling
I was lost no soul...
Today's improved...

I don't have to drink
I never have to prove this
Perfection's an illusion
And that's my view...

Would you like to know my choice?
Found a new direction

Invented a re-birth

I can see, a brand new me
The hole collapsed, I can now see
I found a new affinity
Stored deep inside me

( break )

So now I can show a smile
So now I have found reason
I can choose my goal...
And now I do...

I don't have to blink
I only have to do it
My results not nearly perfect
And that's good news...

Would you like to know my choice?
Found a new conviction

Invented a re-birth

I can see, this brand new me
My realm expands, I can now see
I speculate divinity
Held deep inside me

Divinity
Inside me

I can't vote because I DKTOS... but it was kind of funny, and I'm sure that it had good pacing

DKTOS, but deep stuff here, Red Ant - too personal for me to appreciate fully, but quite poetic - definitely 5s-worthy on that basis

DKTOS but while reading I was thinking that version 2.0 could be the ebonics version; "Homie". :-)

Grunge and all that was, after all, quite a white thing, Gawd knows what Nirvana and AIC would have sounded like if they were from the Hood. Maybe an expert such as yourself can find the right song to ebonicize...

Yeah, what Stu said. Interesting.

555. Very interesting. A good play on my favorite unplugged song.

I've tried to PM you twice and it keeps going into my outbox. Either I doing something wrong or it just likes to drive me nuts(This isn't the first time it has happened).

Thanks Dominic L. This was hard to pace actually because Kurt "cuts off" words, but it is as close as possible.

Thanks Stuart and Jeff, yep this was one I wrote for myself really. Sometimes those just come out.

Peter: Thanks, but no, I will not be turning any grunge song into ebonic-speak.

Thanks Step-chan. I got the PMs, responded on the thread.

It's apparent that I need to add that Nirvana box set into my library if I want to know any of these songs, b/c I don't know this song...
Red Ant - June 17, 2005 - Report this comment
Well, if you don'y have much of Nirvana's music, the box set is the best. This in on Unplugged though. I have Bleach, Nevermind, Incesticide, In Utero, and Unplugged and more than likely will never get the box set.

Even though I DKTOS, I voted 5's, because this parody speaks to me.
