Song Parodies -> Beat the Pistons
| Original Song Title: | "Go the Distance" |
| Original Performer: | Michael Bolton |
| Parody Song Title: | "Beat the Pistons" |
| Parody Written by: | Mike Armstrong |
After a sole politcal parody, it's back to bread and butter... SPORTS!This song takes place in 1991 before the series between the Bulls and Pistons. It is sung by Michael Jordan. "Baby James" is James Edwards. There are several old Pistons players in this song, so if you're confused on a name it's a Pistons guy (except Wil Perdue, but nobody could EVER forget Wil Perdue=))
I have often dreamed
Of a palace night
Were a Vinnie Johnson
Would be locking down me
Where the crowds will boo
When I slam it right
And Chuck Daly's yellin
At ole Adrian Dantley
We will win someday... I can beat the Pistons
I will make the play... Rodman's maladroit
All the shots I get, will touch naught but net
When we beat the Pistons, I'll send tears back to Detroit.
Down the lane I charge
To meet "Baby James"
And the crowd will wonder
What I'm going to do
And Laimbeer shifts off
For a triple team
And I dish it off for
A slam-dunk by Wil Perdue
And I won't look back... when we beat the Pistons
I will stay on track... to the finals we'll retire
It's a sure thing now, when I see just how
We will beat the Pistons when I abuse Mark Aguirre.
And to look at Dumars' face will be the greatest part.
As I rip his three-peat dreams and crush his heart
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooo!!!
I'm a rising star... I can beat the Pistons.
I'll conquer the world... I will give you chills
I don't care how hard... I will beat the Pistons
And I'll torch their hopes at the Palace of Auuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.....burn Hills.
I will celebrate
Don't care if they know
I will get my parade when I'm back in Chi-ca-go.
