Get the board out little ones
Don't you fret, my son
There's a turn for everyone
Plumpy Gin-ger Tree comes in
Greets you with a grin
Jolly's jelly with gum
Where's the Ice Cream Mountain
With whipped cream clouds of white?
Please don't fight!
Play it right!
Ain't it grand?
Off we go to Candyland!
Grandma Nutt, she's so bright
Peanut Brittle night
As marshmallows take flight
Queen Frostine, Princess Lolly
In the swamp, it's Gloppy!
That there monster won't bite!
Jump to Gum Drop Mountain
Scaling the gummy height
Please don't fight!
Play it right!
Ain't it grand,
How we're playing Candyland?
(spoken:)Look around, don't make a peep
Pray that Lord Licorice, the creep
Will not Candy Castle take
One more card will make or break!
Peppermint Forest, there is no bird
Mr. Mint, the man you heard
It is the best game that you have had
Chutes and Ladders next up, Dad!
Please don't fight
Play it right
Hasbroland!
Please don't fight
Play it right
Ain't it grand
What a game of Candyland!
Don't you fret, my son
There's a turn for everyone
Plumpy Gin-ger Tree comes in
Greets you with a grin
Jolly's jelly with gum
Where's the Ice Cream Mountain
With whipped cream clouds of white?

Damn! I was also going to do a Candyland parody!!!! Oh well... I guess I'm going to have to put that on hold now, but that's okay, because I have a better idea in mind anyways.
I know this OS now, from researching Metal, thanks to the Decathlon - every list has this in its top ten Metal songs, and you did it proud Ag - and on the game theme Lord Licorice should have been a Clue(do) character - 555
LOL... 5-5-5
I was thinking of using this OS for my song until I saw this, your title was too perfect for it =) Sweet job on a great song!
I'll never look at the game the same way again! 555.
(Dec) One of my favorite Childhood games next to "Mousetrap"
(Dec 2) Oh Matthias, I remember Mousetrap, that was an addictive friggin game. . .so was Candyland. . .and something about that to Sandman just makes you laugh. . .What a great title sub Agri, and written like a true pro as always.
(Dec 2.0) I also liked Mousetrap - but I've never heard of Candyland. Oh well. Pacing was tight, though.
(Dec 2.4) I'm with bobpie...I've never heard of Candyland, so the obviously sparkling wit people have commented on is a bit lost on me...but it sounds like a load of fun! 555
:) Like the others, I've never heard of the game.. but couldn't shake the mental image of sitting down to play some board game with the kiddies with Metallica on the stereo
(see above - never heard of Candyland either, nor "Chutes And Ladders" - is that the same as "Snakes and Ladders"? - some mouth-watering references here, Ag
Decathlon...I totally took Candy Land way too seriously as a child. I'd get SO mad if I lost!! This was lots of fun, Agri...brought back some memories!
This was awesome! 5s
DEC- I've heard of Candyland but oddly enough never played it. I liked 'Hasbroland'. Very funny and well done, Agri.
I kick ass on the vocals of this song on Rock Band, but that has nothing to do with your parody.... But that's because I really don't have anything else to add since I commented last time. Great game, great parody, great fun!!!
555 for CandyLand, Clue, Monopoly, Life,Cootie(no Hootie) & Skunk (oh sorry, Dave)
(ABC4-O) Agri - I'm not much of a Metallica fan but I did listen to it on your Youtube link. I as well do not know the game, but from a parody writing standpoint even with these gaps in the culture that I have it is evident that this is a very well written parody. Fine job. Just wish I could appreciate it on the same level as commenters here have. This is not to say that I won't point you in the comp voting.
Love the contrast between the OS and a game for 5 year olds. Great idea. I remember the game well...only we'd play for money ;-)
(ABC) obviously knowing the game would add huge enjoyment to this read, Ag, which I sadlty don't (I thought you were talking about icecream flavours in fact) but an excellent write to the OS
See above! Matthias, ever sung these lyrics on Rock Band instead of the original? LOL
(ABC4O) See above....I'm in danger of getting dental cavities just reading this!
See above, great to see again, I loved this the first time
