The Lyrics

Did you know that nerdy fandoms have a ranking system based on knowledge, amount of money spent and whether or not one has a penis? No? Well good, cause that's complete bollocks. Not that that stops some doinks from assuming that's true, as the singer of this song knows all too well...
I may not know what it means to be a state-saver
And so what if I don't know when D&D was ma-hade
Some of you are judgin', puttin' the "fake nerd" tag on anyone
Who cannot recognise Master Chief's...gun, it's a gun
I may not know the name of ev'ry superhero
Don't have the time or cash to visit ev'ry con in to-own, yeah
So quit with the comments sayin' I have no place in the forum
Cause I don't own a Lantern ring...dumb, that's dumb
Yeah

Shut up, this ain't some exclusive club right here
Yet you think of me less cause I don't draw fan art
This other dude said I can't like that shit
What is this "rea-eal nerd" that you can't agree on, please?
It's rude
Not true
Stop, please

Well, I'm sure the "nerd hierarchy" isn't real, bro
No-one's a bigger fan than the other, it's in your hea-eads (all in your heads)
Can't put nerds into order
Based on how much merchandise they have bought
The term "true fan" makes me wanna...groan, bi-i-ig load
Yeah

So what if I've yet to see any Star Trek
No Cylons on my shelf, passed by them in K-Mart
Our fandom, dude, ain't some exclusive clique
Don't think a "rea-eal nerd" would be exclusionary

Because, hey, in the day
Weren't we the ones excluded from the popular group?
It's okay to not know things
So stop excludin' me-hee-yeah-heah

Yeah
Get stuffed, may not know ev'ry Lantern Corp's oath
Why not offer to help expand my knowledge base, man?
Don't be a douche, we all like the same thing
And thus all "rea-eal nerds", so stop type-shouting at me
We are all "rea-eal nerds", all genders, colours and creeds
So stop the "rea-eal nerd" crap, cause it's pissing off me (all "real nerds")
Please, dude (all "real nerds")
Stooooop, please (all "real nerds")

"hierarchy" = "hy-er-ark-ee"

Interesting observations here, TCOP. It is kind of daunting to have passing interest in certain "nerdy" pursuits while getting the impression that if one doesn't immerse themselves into it, one isn't worthy (like "Lord of the Rings"--I love the movies, but I'm not at all interested in the Middle Earth ethos).

It des depends on the devotion, such a show there are people going out to learn some fictional languages, seriously.

Very interesting spoof here. There weren't a lot of laugh out loud moments, but more along of lines of a "Yeah! Right on!" kind of tone. I don't know much about most nerdy topics (Ex: my "I've Heard of Star Wars" Ke$ha spoof), but I can totally relate with this. Nice work!

Interesting commentary on some elitist nerds and the ranking system they use. I've never see this point of view before, let alone in parody form. Well stated, and lots of digs at all the little details that make up nerd-dom. Well done here.

There are quite a number of things I don't know about nerd-dom apparently. Nice job with the song...I agree with Abbott's "Yeah! Right on!" comment.

As a nerd I totally approve of this parody! Covered all of the bases here but All Your Base Is Belong To Us.

(Artistry) I wasn't laughing, but definitely nodding in approval. I can totally relate. I'm a theatre major, but didn't get into theatre until my sophomore year of college. So in this set of "theatre nerds" I have a lot less theatre knowledge. Sometimes I feel marginalized for that. Totally get this.
