ALL I GET FOR CHRISTMAS IS STEW

I don’t eat too much at Christmas;
Though at times I’d like some more.
Truth is I was made redundant;
This now means that I’m quite poor.

You can’t know just how I feel,
Wishing for a sumptuous meal.
Crazy but it’s true,
All I get for Christmas is stew!

Oh, everyone I know this Christmas
Opens presents round the fire,
Playing games and singing carols,
Listening to a Heavenly choir.

I’ll be sitting in my care home,
Thinking how it used to be.
Waiting for my help to bring me
Something while I watch TV.

Each day getting meals on wheels.
Crazy but it’s true,
All I get for Christmas is stew!

Since I lost my loving partner nothing has been quite the same.
I’ve been growing old and grumpy, not a penny to my name.
But at least I’m not a sinner; I just want a decent dinner.
I can see a good solution: make a New Year Resolution!
