Life keeps on coming
Speeding right through
These days all run together
What happened to my youth

I'm missing all the early 90's tunes
The bands today all sound like robot loons
The Eighties will be called the oldies soon
Well I recall when all that stuff was new

Now Blockbuster is packing
They simply can't compete
and WalMart is now stationed
On ev'ry single street

Now I remember back in Ninety-Two
The emo kids were the odd ones in school
but now it seems it's pain that's become cool
and all I was into's become taboo

My nieces make me feel rather old
When I talk about bands that they don't know
They think that Fall Out Boy has hard core tunes
but they're soft next to what I listened too

Kids laugh at my old shoes
and my old nineties lines
What's happened to the world
What about Sublime
TV's gone to hell
Far as I can tell
Makes me want to yell

Life's always changing
Sky is still blue
But today's kids never see it
It's not on YouTube

I can't believe what my mom said was true
That one day I'd long to be in high school
Back then I used to fake I had the flu
But that's before being a geek was cool

Now ev'ry kid has sleek Ipod cell phones
When I was young a Walkman's what we owned
and GameBoy screens only displayed two hues
But now the graphics are like the PS2
