some said it caused some pain
hank snow gettin married, and there goes mae
she slipped a ring onto his hand
later on they took his horse
rode on down to the grass and gorse
she had some snow in her hand
did some things we still don't understand
melted it so hot to beat the band..

somehow that poor girl mae
had snow most every day
made all the folk around them freeze
funny how it involved some pain
all they ate was oats and grains
she seemed to be short on her knees
and then she caused a snow melting loving "breeze"

sometimes their life begins
as snow comes down and settles in

the way Mae handles deep wet snow
