Parody Song Title:

"Terrible Lie"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

A mopey and down-trodden song ('Terrible Lie' by NIN) set to a lively and up-beat tune ('Beautiful Life' by Ace Of Base). Such fun! 'Everything' is pronounced 'ev-e-ry-thing', pronouncing every syllable.
Hey God, why are you doing this to me?
Ain't I living up to what I'm supposed to be?
Hey God, I do think you owe me one
Big sorry, oooh

It's a terrible lie, oooh
What a terrible lie, oooh
Such a terrible lie, oooh
Please don't take it away from me, man
I need someone to hold on to

There is now nothing left for me to hide
I lost my ignorance
Security and pride
All alone in a world you must despise
So hey God, oooh

Made a terrible lie, oooh
Man, what terrible lies, oooh
Damn, such terrible lies, oooh
Please, man don't take it away from me

World's sad
As seems

I believed the promises and lies
I need someone to hold on tight

You just made me throw it all away
My morals all decayed
How many is it, you have betrayed?
Taken ev'rything

Head is filled with disease, oooh
My skin is begging you please, oooh
I am on my hands and knees, oooh
Man, I just want so much to believe

I give you everything
(What a terrible lie)
I will give all that I have, you're my sweet everything, oh yeah
(It's a terrible lie)
God, I really don't wanna know who I am in this world of piss

I need someone
Someone to hold on to
Need someone
Someone to hold on to

It's a terrible lie
Someone to hold on to

Such a terrible lie
Someone to hold on to

What a terrible lie
Someone to hold on to

That's a terrible lie
Someone to hold on to
Thanx go to Spaff for the concept, and BAD for the contest I'm righting this for, and the introduction of Ace Of Base (and the vid for the song I used).

I'm not familer with the NIN song so a lot of this was lost on me, 5's anyways for the hard work, and no hard feelings.

(Artistry) Nice idea and good job fitting the NIN lyrics into the AOB song.

(Artistry) A seamless mashup...not familiar with the NIN song, let alone the AOB, so I can't really say too much...maybe you should have provided a link to Terrible Life, too.

(Artistry) A very good idea, as stated above, the only negative, the beginning doesn't match up perfectly. . .but then again, You put another songs lyrics into a totally different song--have nothing negative to say there. . .that's pretty cool.

(Artistry) I've never really considered mashups to be parodies. You'd have to know the NIN song to appreciate this, and I don't think that many people do, and those who do often aren't big fans of humor.
