According to Darwinist beliefs human evolution took off when we climbed down from the trees and moved into caves. I don't believe that, not fully, it sounds too much like an organized plan. What really happened was probably far more accidental. Here's my theory: During especially fruitful years some ape men got lazy and started to put on weight, then FELL out of the trees and couldn't climb back up again. Forced to spend the nights in the nearest cave (or the nearest where they could kill the resident boar) they quickly developed a taste for raw meat, six-packs of bat bladder urine and tossing leftovers on the floor. As for why the female apes came after and joined in I don't really know, but the word "fur" is probably central in some way.

Loved the intro story! Though the parody topic was prehistoric, its skilled writing comes from a well-evolved author. I think the men chased the women, though "fur" was probably the reason. ;-)
