Mr. 1s, Is Obama Irish now? Just curious... Malcolm, this paced really well, but I didn't see any humor in this. If Obama doesn't have a shot, then why worry about him? I'm not sure what news sources you read or watch, but (unfortunately) Obama/McCain are in near a dead heat. Neither party has the answer, only the typical "the other party sucks more" type replies. 533

Just as an FYI, I have been closely following and studying the state-by-state polling for several months now, and it appears that Obama is starting to pull away in the Electoral Vote projections. He's got solid leads that appear no less than 4% by conservative estimate in at least 23 states, total 273 EV...most show well more than 4% and the 4 states I'm showing around 4% are states Obama has lead in for well over a month without any significant movement by the McCain. There is a good-sized group right in behind the 273 EV bunch that are all showing Obama ahead or trending in that direction and I think he will take a large number of those. McCain's big problem is he doesn't have anything except smears, fear mongering, far-fetched guilt-by-association accusations that do not hold up under either the slightest impartal scrutiny, wild and unsupportable or demonstrably false statements pandering to low-information folks who might have been looking for excuses to not vote for Obama, but who are now rethinking it as they watch their jobs or 401(k) plans shrink or just outright disappear. Of course, I could be wrong...but I don't think so. I'm still talking with my checkbook a couple times a month and will continue to do so right on through November 4th...the stakes are just too big this time to get complacent. It's eminently clear to me that "more of the same" is just not gonna cut it in the next 4 years.
