Song Parodies -> De Gaullein'
| Original Song Title: | "Free Fallin'" |
| Original Performer: | Tom Petty |
| Parody Song Title: | "De Gaullein'" |
| Parody Written by: | John A. Barry |
He views the world; us and "là -bas."
Loves "je suis," but America, "zut!"
Yet likes our world: crazy 'bout Lewis,
Loves hors d'oeuvres; his joy is French food.
As Paris mayor, he's livin' rent-free, ah!
He got leeway; no one too appalled.
Was a bad boy; gave perks to his sister.
Now Chirac's joy: breaking Bush balls.
Yeah, he's de, de Gaullein',
Yeah, he's de, de Gaullein',
So some vin buyers in the Central Valley
Poured French out, wettening boulevards,
'Cause of Chirac's ploy: just would not to Iraq go,
'Cause in his world, Saddam had been oil pard.
Now he's de, de Gaullein',
Wannabe de Gaullein'.
Shot Brussels down; then followed Holland.
He's a nationalistic guy.
Thinks he's de Gaulle, but he's just bluffing.
Compared to Charles, he's just a child.
Wannbe de Gaullein',
Manneredly de Gaullein'.

444, had to sing some lines to fast to keep with the original, and I don't totally understand the song... But it'd be great if you read my Free Fallin' parody, as the only person who did didn't rememeber the original song.
Thanks, Dominic. This is a tough one. I've given it another shot, which I'll post next week. I did check out yours. . .liked it.
