Parody Song Title:

"Drought"

The Lyrics

We've been having ridiculously hot weather in the UK recently, which is getting all our weather forecasters worried because they seem to think we're turning into the Mediterranean. Between writing and submitting this, it has poured with rain three times.
Drought, drought - water runs out
It's much too dry - does this mean a drought?
Come, rain - we want it to pour
Downpour

Rivers start to dry out
Water gets low - don't try to jump out
Come, rain - we want it to pour
Downpour

In summertime I don't like it to get so hot
Although July, how parched is my garden plot!
Those hosepipe bans
Are drying out our compost so
So my big plan
Is that we start to pray for snow
To maybe make our gardens grow

Rain - it must have run low
Wish for a storm so things start to grow
Come, rain - bring water, then more
Downpour

It gives such life but lack of it takes green away
We like it damp - when will it start to rain for days?
When will it start to rain for days?

Drought, drought - water runs out
It's much too dry - does this mean a drought?
Come, rain - we want it to pour
Come, rain

Water running right out
It's much too dry - does this mean a drought?
Come, rain - we want it to pour
Come, rain

(instrumental break)

Drought, drought - water runs out
It's much too dry - does this mean a drought?
Come, rain - we want it to pour
Come, rain

And when it's got your compost damp
Then with your muddy boots
Across your carpet you will tramp
Across your carpet you will tramp

Drought, drought - water runs out
It's much too dry - does this mean a drought?
Come, rain - we want it to pour
Come, rain

Drought, drought - water runs out
It's much too dry - does this mean a drought?
Come, rain - we want it to pour
Come, rain

(instrumental break)

Water just won't run out
Not Lancashire - we won't get a drought
It's rain - it's going to pour
It's rain

(We really, really want some rain)

Water just won't run out
(We really, really want some rain)
Not Lancashire - we won't get a drought
(We really, really want some rain)
It's rain - it's going to pour
(We really, really want some rain)
It's rain

Drought, drought - water runs out
It's much too dry - does this mean a drought?
Come, rain - we want it to pour
Downpour

I'm in the north and just now I'm loving every last bit of rain. I was hoping to maybe use this as a kind of rain dance.
