The Lyrics

My experience of the past week tends to indicate that flu shots do not necessarily immunize the shots’ recipient.
Well, it’s a real tough cootie
With some strong DNA;
It’s tearing me apart in a febrile way.
I’d gone to my doc and said, “Do it!”
He said, “Good man, do not eschew it!”

Hit me with your ’enz’[1] shot,
I’m hopin, hit me with your N[2] shot.
Hit me with your best shots. . .
Virus away!

Needle homed; needless, homeopathic care;
I’m OK, feelin’ quite square. . .
Knocked me out; I bawled in pain;
I’m off my feet; I call doc, refrain:

“Hit me with a cent’[3] shot,
Come on, doc, hit me with a ’stem’[3] shot,
Hit me with a ’press’[3] shot,
Fire away!”

He said, “Get real!” (tough coot) “See,
That would wrong DEA—
They might tear me apart in a legal way.
No shot, son, I’ll have to eschew it;
Bite the bullet, man, and get through it!”

Hit me with his best “not.”
The doc hit me with his, I stress, “not.”
Illness makes me rest not.
Pyretic fray!

Hit me with his best “not.”
Guy droned and hit me with, bite lead shot.
Hit him with my best shot. . .
Fire away!

Well done! In my experience, there is only one truly effective shot - a double Maker's Mark! ;D

Best shot: "Pyretic fray" :-D
I've never had a flu shot, and your experience confirms my doubts as to their value. 555 -- and did *someone* start a trend with the formerly-dreaded footnotes? Avant-garde! (Guard your Avanti™ -- they're priceless collector's items.)

Old Man Ribber: Fiddlegirl is gonna love that comment! You two come from the same barrel, or sumpin? :-D
