| Parody Written by: | Royce Miller |
sweet onion from Georgia
Skin that peels like heaven
Layers so divine
That bulb can sure enough taste so very fine
Grows underneath the dirt, now
Don't grow on a vine
Hand it here, cause that Vidalia's mine
Chorus:
So I'm singing, Vidalia, Vidalia
I taste no fire, vidalia
Eat it up, eat it up
Sweet onion, now now
Eat 'er up, eat 'er up,
Sweet onion, now now
Throw those layers away
Tonight I'm gonna eat her
At the country rib buffet
And I'm gonna eat up all the rings I can
People will jump and holler
Cause she's so very sweet to swall'er
She doesn't make your breath smell too bad, man
So I'm singing, Vidalia, Vidalia
No tongues on fire, Vidalia
Eat it up, eat it up, sweet onion now now
Won't heat up, won't heat up
Won't heat up mouths, now
Throw that peeling away
Layers so divine
That bulb can sure enough taste so very fine
Grows underneath the dirt, now
Don't grow on a vine
Hand it here, cause that Vidalia's mine
Chorus:
So I'm singing, Vidalia, Vidalia
I taste no fire, vidalia
Eat it up, eat it up
Sweet onion, now now
Eat 'er up, eat 'er up,
Sweet onion, now now
Throw those layers away
Tonight I'm gonna eat her
At the country rib buffet
And I'm gonna eat up all the rings I can
People will jump and holler
Cause she's so very sweet to swall'er
She doesn't make your breath smell too bad, man
So I'm singing, Vidalia, Vidalia
No tongues on fire, Vidalia
Eat it up, eat it up, sweet onion now now
Won't heat up, won't heat up
Won't heat up mouths, now
Throw that peeling away

I'm not much of an onion fancier, but this is clever, and spicy...
Peel away the layers and find fives.
This parody is in season just like its subject matter!
More a-peeling than the original lyrics! Giddy-up!
Sometimes it is politically correct to say that the Americas would have been better off if Christopher Columbus would have stayed away. For many reasons, including the fact that he introduced onions to the "new world," I regect that argument. A good, fun parody, Royce.
brings tears to my eyes.., 5-5-5
