"Will The Circle Be Unbroken"

Original Performer:

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band

Parody Song Title:

"Will the Circus Be a Token"

Parody Written by:

Royce Miller

The Lyrics

I was standing in the courtroom
On a California day
When I saw the lawyer come in
For to grill Amber away

Will the circus be a token
Amber Frey, Lord, Amber Frey
Says Scott never said he loved her
What a guy, lord, what a guy

I looked at Scott, there sitting
Cold and silent like a stone
And I wondered who could kill a
woman and her unborn son

Repeat Chorus

I'll be glad when it's all settled
Hope the jury gets it right
Cause the hijinks of the players
Seem at times so very trite

Repeat Chorus

In Modesto, their home is lonesome
Cause now Lacy, she is gone
And the evidence is gathered
And now justice will be done?

Repeat Chorus

Did he have a normal childhood
Will this trial be real long
Does he wish it all was over
Lacy Peterson was wronged

Repeat Chorus twice

After the evidence that the prosecution presented yesterday, that boy may not get off scott free. Great timing for this song, Royce. Maybe they'll give him life, since the appeal process for a death sentence would take about 555 years.

Heavy duty, Royce, and well-done.

Scott's gonna get off; Bush is gonna get reelected.

Dunno what it is, these kind of parodies always make me feel somewhat uncomfortable. Maybe that's a good thing.
