Parody Song Title:

"True Waste"

Parody Written by:

Rice Cube & Watt Daddy

The Lyrics

From Watt Daddy: Scour was the original filesharing service as far as I'm concerned, then Napster tried to milk the VCs for all they were worth (and probably singlehandedly ruined the economy), and then came Morpheus/KaZaa: gnutella clients for the masses. There's probably something bigger and better by now, but I don't trade files anymore ;-) From Rice Cube: This is seriously a waste of time and money and alienates music fans and consumers.
I feel so extraordinary
Something weird happened to me
This morning I thought hell'd frozen over
I'm getting sued for mp3s
I don't care who says it's fair
This forbodes a dim tomorrow
It would appear I've taken too much
Of what I thought was free and good stuff

CHORUS
I used to think that the day would never come
When I'd have to pay for my harmless fun
My harmless fun is the tunes that I download
Replaced by this summons taped on my abode.
I used to think that the day would never come
When the RIAA'd be having all the fun.

When I was just starting college
I'd Scour the net gleefully
Then came Napster, then came KaZaa
All these got me mp3s
There was a price that we all paid
I'm not talking about tuition
I thought it was paid by corporate fat cats
Now it seems the load's on my back!

CHORUS

I feel so extraordinary
People are accusing me
As if I no longer bought music
A sudden loss of liberty
The chances are we've gone too far
You can't rebottle this one genie
Now I fear I'm just a scapegoat
For an iota less padding your waistcoat

CHORUS to fade...
