| Original Song Title: | "Some Day, Some Way" |
| Original Performer: | Marshall Crenshaw |
| Parody Song Title: | "Some Day Some Way (A complaint to Home Depot)" |
| Parody Written by: | MasonR |
Marshall Crenshaw is one of the best singer-songwriters of the past
25 years that almost nobody's heard of. This is a parody of one
of his most well-known songs, circa 1981. It's also a complaint
to the incompetent nincompoops who handle door installations
for a Home Depot in Central New Jersey.

Once again you did it wrong
The door I ordered it wouldn't fit
Tenth try still can't get it right
Although you say you measured it
Some day some way
Some day some way
Some day some way
Maybe you'll get it right
Said you'd be here right at noon
But you got to me at four
Home Depot's left me in the lurch
I just can't stand this anymore
Some day some way
Some day some way
Some day some way
Maybe you'll get it right
I'm not much of a handy guy
I'll pay for it to be done right
But your contractors are not so bright
Waited six more weeks and now
You say you got it wrong again
Its time to get my money back
I'll go to Loews and try again
Some day some way
Some day some way
Some day some way
Someone else will get it right
The door I ordered it wouldn't fit
Tenth try still can't get it right
Although you say you measured it
Some day some way
Some day some way
Some day some way
Maybe you'll get it right
Said you'd be here right at noon

Lots of people know MC's name, they just may not be able to name a tune of his offhand. I came in cuz I thought I might know this tune, but I can tell by the pacing, I'm confusing it with something else. Have a link to the tune? Maybe we'd recognize it...
Here's a link to one of his records with 30-second snippet of "Someday Someway" at Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00004UEIW/qid=108759 0090/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_1/002-3278728-4658445
Also, maybe the original lyrics will jog your memory: I can't stand to see you sad/I can't bear to hear you cry/if you can't tell me what you need/all I can do is wonder why/Some day, some way (repeat 4x) maybe I'll understand you I hope this helps!
I know this one! Nice job! I'd love to see more Marshall Crenshaw parodies! (BTW, I think Home Depot is fine for buying stuff for a project, but based on my bitter experience, NO WAY would I have them install even a screw!
