The Lyrics

from "The Inaccurate Confection". Now this surrealism turned into something deeply weird and yet somehow, magical. Maybe Nostradamus took over my writing hand. I like this one, but you are free to disagree.
Now we ring the midnight bell
And all matter of things congeal and swell
I will humbly will take on the call
To tell a story written on the wall

(Chorus)A man will kill a thousand flies
And throw a magic spell
He will learn to smell
The toast that has been burned, and then
He will learn serenity

Fred knows good guitar riffs
He played them once; he has the earthly gifts
The ones that you will never see
It stings your eyes—you can't ever be like me

(Chorus #2)Yes, Ruth is not the hurting kind
She has a magic spell
She will learn to smell
Secretions in the fen
She will never have to dance again

Then they'll run away, they will run the length
Of the ground to a star
Now they will steer the speedy lil' go-cart
It will be gold
All kidding aside, it must be told
Now they will hear
Now they will learn
Heartache will grow

(repeat Chorus, Chorus #2)

"Deeply weird" indeed, and just as accurate as Nostradamus (and his brother with the big nose, Nostrildamus).

It was written well and good overall but I just didn't find the humor in this except for the line: "A man will kill a thousand flies"

A "spell-bound" parody, Agri! This is also one of my fave of Madonna's OS! Spelling F-I-V-E-S for this prophecy!

(Artistry) ....*25, 000 miles over my head* ZOOM. Well written and all, but...maybe having your entry being part of a series (I'm assuming here, what with the 'from "The Inaccurate Confection"' bit) wasn't the best choice, IMO.

Hmm, Agri, I can't speak for everyone, but the pacing on this one just didn't seem to scan too well. I didn't fully get it either, but I had trouble putting it to the TOS. Not the type of work you've come out with more recently I'm afraid. . .sorry.
