This is the TRUE story of the discovery of electricity.
Some fool's out there
Trying to fly a kite
Some fool's tied a brass key
He'll light up nice and bright

I try hard not to stare
It's so hard not to snicker
Cause he's getting soaked out there
And even though I own
An extra raincoat I could spare
With an umbrella held above
So he could dry his hair
But when the lightning crackles
And the air begins to fry

I'm standing next to that
Electric guy
Not safe out there
And if you need more proof
Just look at the weather
Lightning out there
Clapping thunder too

It seems to me he might be

It might just bring me fame if
I'd pretend to be this guy

(SOTM) I only vaguely KTOS from one of those American Tail/Feivel movies. I thought you nailed the pacing as far as I could remember it. The lyrics were pretty funny, especially that "Electric guy" line. Great job, Tim! 555

(ShockOTM) I recently saw this experiment re-enacted on Mythbusters. They busted it, concluding what you have here, that Franklin would have more than likely been killed by such a stunt (that is, if it even were attempted or worked in the first place). I wonder if the old expression "Go fly a kite" originated from Franklin's work. I'll fly you some 5s, but I'm staying inside when lightning's out!
