Parody Song Title:

"That's the Path"

Parody Written by:

Adagio

The Lyrics

The wall that holds despair I note
Is cracking, so it seems.
And on that hopelessness called death
That sunlight slightly streams.
That sunlight comes to face weak parts
Called anger and called screams.
I've put the knife back in it's sheaf
Since I have drowned those dreams.

Intrusion is called to be the path,
Lest you wish to keep that harmful wrath.
But, when you take the path, sit and relax.
I know that tomorrow you'll be sighing
Yes I know tomorrow you'll be crying.
I know that tomorrow you'll be sighing.

- Instrumental -

Unseen the iron gates do fade,
Despair of mine outpoured.
It watered me, had thought it foe,
Had thought that I had moaned.
It was just a deadly friend,
Called status quo that ruled.
The gates of all mankind are free,
But always have you fooled.

- Long instrumental -

The wall that holds despair I note,
Is broken finally.
And on that hopelessness called death,
The sunlight brightly streams.
That sunlight came to face weak parts,
Called anger and called screams.
I took the knife out of it's sheaf,
And threw it in the stream.

Intrusion is called to be the path,
Lest you wish to keep that harmful wrath.
If you take the path then, sit and relax.
But I fear tomorrow you'll be sighing
Yes I know tomorrow you'll be crying.
But I fear tomorrow you'll be sighing.
Crying, sighing, lest.....

every bit as dark and beautiful as the original

Looking forward to an OS that us old fogeys would know, se we can more appreciate the writing talent that is obvious here.
BTW, did you see your plug in one of my submissions today?
Adagio - March 15, 2006 - Report this comment
Thanks alvin!

Thanks TT, I'll look for it. Did you mean this was an oldie or you want them older? King Crimson wrote 60s, 70s and this 80s.

I kinda fell off the (musical) planet somewhere in the mid-70's, as I think a lot of us boomers did. I DKTOS so much of what look as though would be good stuff here, including the entire "Argentina" musical (and Stuart McArthur's follow-on), as well as a lot of songs by AmIRighters who I love when I KTOS. (Main reason why I don't always return the favor on everything by those who are kind enough to vote/comment on mine, present comany included.)

Thanks John!

TT - I knew there was a reason to get back to my Moody Blues, Rolling Stones, etc. : ) Not to mention pre-disco BeeGees.

Very nicely done - I'd like to see 555 more King Crimson parodies, please. (Or I may just have to finish "Brie and a Camenbert".)

Thanks, Hairy...I provided a midi.

Was able to d/l a MP3 of this OS; your lyrics fit TOS quite well (and what Alvin said) so I went 555 instead of 545 (which I would have given you based on a MIDI).

Thanks, and lucky me, Jack! ; ) But isn't the OS itself beautiful?
