Song Parodies -> "Livin' on Welfare"

Original Song Title:

"Livin' on a Prayer"

Original Performer:

Jon Bon Jovi

Parody Song Title:

"Livin' on Welfare"

Parody Written by:

Scrawny Johnny

The Lyrics

Not to poke fun at those who HONESTLY need welfare... (this song is based off a lazy couple I know who barely provided enough food and clothes for 5 kids but always had the money to pay for the fastest internet, the biggest big-screen TV with the unnecessary luxury of satellite connection, and, oh yeah...cigarettes)
Once upon a time
About two folks I know...

Alan never finished high school
Tried to get a job
He's had no such luck, it's tough...so tough
Becky scrubs out toilets all day
Workin' like a slob
She's wastes all her pay on beer...on beer

And when she comes home, it's all the same
Roaches roam the house
While Alan's watchin' the game
The kids are hungry and it's a shame, no food...
So who is to blame?

Whoa, they just don't care
Whoa-OA! Livin' on welfare!
Bad neighbors who always cuss and swear
Whoa-OA! Livin' on welfare!

They receive their check for the month
But they buy what they want
Instead of what they need, it's true...so true
In the rain the kids walk to school
Because Alan can't drive, has no license
And Becky is laz-ay...it's craz-ay

They lack of respect and decency
And their poor-conditioned home
Displays their apathy
It's disgraceful to the community, no lie...
It makes no sense to me

Whoa, the low-life pair
Whoa-OA! Livin' on welfare!
Complain the government is so unfair
Whoa-OA! Livin' on welfare!

Ohhh...They spend your taxes, like it or not
You pay for these fakes with the earnings you've got

Whoa, don't pull your hair
Whoa-OA! Livin' on welfare!
Spend your cash without the slightest care
Whoa-OA! Livin' on welfare!

Whoa, she's like a bear
Whoa-OA! Livin' on welfare!
Becky's legs are very anti-Nare
Whoa-OA! Livin' on welfare!

Whoa, It's quite the scare
Whoa-OA! Livin' on welfare!
Alan's outside in his underwear
Whoa-OA! Livin' on welfare!
Another song from Scrawny Johnny's 2nd album- "Master of Grilling"I'm taking a well deserved vacation and won't be back until mid-February, giving me 3-months of time to write up some more songs. Until then, take care!

The pacing was off in quite a few places, but this was one of those "Why didn't I think of that?" parodies... ive spent long hours thinking up bon jovi parody titles and havent thought of this one, but it works so well. I also liked the "poor-conditioned" pun.

I love the OS, and have also parodied it myself light-heartedly, but this one really hit a target SJ, and mapped perfectly onto the OS - 555

Yep pacing off, not bad enough for a 3, so 455.

Pacing was a little off but it was doubleplusfunny and original so i gave a 4-5-5.
