Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Having done the Presidential Parody Project, completing it in October 2004, I wanted to complete the Prime Ministerial Parody Project before I hit the 1,000-Parody mark. I considered "Total Eclipse of Joe Clark," but that almost would've lasted longer than his time in office (June 4, 1979 to March 3, 1980). At 39, he was the youngest Prime Minister ever. At 40, he was the youngest ex-PM, although he was brought back as Conservative Party Leader at age 62, not that it helped him or the Party.
(instrumental opening)

Joe Clark's ride is coming, now
can you feel?
We didn't know it was such a bad deal.
From out of the shadows
achieved his dream.
Then he drove us crazy
and he made us scream!

Voting of "No Confidence," no more time
slipping is Clark's side, across the line...
on Joe Clark's side!
Oh, no!
On Joe Clark's side!
Oh, no!

(brief instrumental break)

Joe Clark's ride is coming, now
can you feel?
We didn't know it was such a bad deal.
From out of the shadows
achieved his dream.
Then he drove us crazy
and he made us scream!

Voting of "No Confidence," no more time
slipping is Clark's side, across the line...
on Joe Clark's side!
Oh, no!
On Joe Clark's side!
Oh, no!

(saxophone break)

Voting of "No Confidence," no more time
slipping is Clark's side, across the line...
on Joe Clark's side!
Oh, no!
On Joe Clark's side!
Oh, no!
On Joe Clark's side!
Oh, no!
On Joe Clark's side!
Oh-whoa, no!
While I have done a few history-themed parodies involving English Kings, there will be no official project for British monarchs or Prime Ministers. Besides, YOU try rhyming something with "Queen Elizabeth"... I or II! And, while I'm somewhat familiar with Canadian and British history, I am woefully under-informed to do one of these for Australia. Sorry, mates.

Mike, I'm a huge Eddie And The Cruisers fan, so I know this song very well...your pacing was a tad off, but didn't detract from the educational value and craftsmanship of this parody. 455
