Song Parodies -> Just a Piccolo
| Original Song Title: | "Just a Gigolo" |
| Original Performer: | David Lee Roth |
| Parody Song Title: | "Just a Piccolo" |
| Parody Written by: | Royce Miller |
I'm just a piccolo and everywhere I go
People hear the song I'm playin
Just a little flute, makin little toots
Oooh, what am I sayin"
There will come a day, the orchestra will play
The bigger flutes will tire
When the end comes I know, I was one fine piccolo
Just an octave higher
Chorus:
I ain't got no sweet lips,
No sweet lips blow on me
No sweet lips blow on me
I'm so small and lonely, small and lonely, small and lonely
Won't some sweet mama come and take a blow on me?
Cause I ain't so bad
I'm just a piccolo and everywhere I go
People hear the song I'm playin
Just give me a chance, I want some romance
Oohh what am I sayin
There will come a day
(There will come a day)
The orchestra will play
Will there be a solo for me?
When the end comes I know, I was one fine piccolo
Life blows on without me
(Chorus)
There will come a day, the orchestra will play
The horns blown hard will tire
When the end comes I know I was one fine piccolo
Just an octave higher
I ain't got no sweet lips
No soft lips blow on me
No soft lips blow on me
I'm so small and lonely, small and lonely, small and lonely
Won't some sweet mama come and take a blow on me?
Cause I ain't so bad
People hear the song I'm playin
Just a little flute, makin little toots
Oooh, what am I sayin"
There will come a day, the orchestra will play
The bigger flutes will tire
When the end comes I know, I was one fine piccolo
Just an octave higher
Chorus:

No sweet lips blow on me
No sweet lips blow on me
I'm so small and lonely, small and lonely, small and lonely
Won't some sweet mama come and take a blow on me?
Cause I ain't so bad
I'm just a piccolo and everywhere I go
People hear the song I'm playin

I thought of that title a while ago but couldn't figure out what to do with it. Now there's no reason to bother with that anymore... good job
Oh crap! I should have posted the one that I wrote last night!
The piccolo - a part of Bach muzik like its cousin the flute.
Makes me think of the WONDERFUL little piccolo solo in the middle of John Philip Sousa's "The Stars And Stripes Forever"! 555
You get 5 "Bozey Bozey Bops" from me, Royce. Rick & Mari are gonna have to work you into their act!
Mari--What was yours about?
Cute one Royce!
Royce, she had the same title about the same thing, just from a player's perspective instead of the instrument's. She read it to me last night. I thought she submitted it. Imagine my surprise when your name was there today. She feels she should wait a while now to submit. She doesn't want anyone to think she stole the idea from you.
Rick, see, there it goes again - the "Amiright Coincidence Nexus" ....... you and I have had our share of 'em....... recently, Paul Robinson and I have, and now Mari and Royce...... it really seems sometimes like The Cosmos has a sense of humor.....
just an octave higher.....HAHAHAHAHA.....good one, royce
Makes me want to play the flute (but not too well) ;).
This one time, at band camp... This is what happens when you procrastinate! I actually thought "Gee, I can wait until tomorrow. Nobody else would do a parody about a piccolo using that song." Doh! ANYWAY, I like yours -- very cute and clever! By the way, did you get the lyrics online? I tried that because some of DLR's vocals are unintelligible! On every site they're different. I just gave up and picked one at random.
Billy Dee Williams and I loved it.
This one bangs!
Well rhymed, good parody, Royce.
Mari-I got the lyrics from yahoo; I'll look forward to reading yours.
The joke is that Caan played Brian Piccolo in "Brian's Song," with Williams as Gale Sayers.
