Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Smombie, noun: A person walking around unaware of his or her surroundings entirely absorbed in their smartphone.

This is my Halloween song for 2015 because nowadays there's nothing more scary than smartphone users in traffic.

A YouTube version of the original song can currently be found here.
Make way!

North America!
Nook an' cranny!
U2 Afghanistan!

Darwin's back around the world
As unsteady folks goes obsolete
Vacant stares comes with vacant minds
On smombies in the streets

You're mowed down in Chicago
Smombies in the streets
Killed in New Orleans
Smombies in the streets
Die in New York City
Smombies in the streets

All because your smart phone, sweet smart phone
You're on LinkedIn everywhere
You go music download', PornHub reload'
Smombies in the streets

You're getting flattened - everywere
Just because your head aren't there
So come on, everyone, drift your stare
Otherwhere, or say your prayers

You are smombies, smombies in the streets
Smombies in the streets

It's an inundation of wit evasion
A trance state to delete
You are driving and texting and crashing sexting
Smombies in the streets

Philadelphia each day
Smombies in the streets
Baltimore's a slaughterhouse
Smombies in the streets
None survies the motor city
Smombies in the streets
On their feet in Brazil
Smombies in the streets
Hacks in the USSR
Smombies in the streets
Whatever street you are
Smombies in the streets

All because your smart phone, sweet smart phone
You're on Facebook everywhere
You are Twitter typing, Tinder swiping
Smombies in the streets

You're getting splattered - everywere
Just because your mind aren't there
So come on, everyone unaware
Take due care, or hit the air

You are smombies, smombies in the streets
Smombies in the streets

Wiped out in L.A - everyday
Smombies in the streets
Smombies in the streets
Crushed in China too
Smashed into
Smombies in the streets
Smombies in the streets

You did it again Peter, just let me... rate you 555 with my Smartphone... as I walk the dogs!!! Btw, the new New Yorker saying should be " Hey, I'm walkin' AND talkin' here!"

One does see lots of pedestrians putting themselves at risk by 'devicing' while moving on foot in trafficky situations, and around cycle paths. For drivers, even momentary inattention can bring a disaster, and driving-texting is fortunately now illegal in most places. I wish that a ban on device use while moving inattentively could really be enforced. 5s
