A long, long time ago,
As all you folks should know,
Ole Charlie started loading up that sleigh.

A smile upon his face,
Each Redneck took his place,
To bring the children joy on Christmas day.

With one little, two little, three little Rednecks,
Four little, five little, six little Rednecks,
Seven little, eight little, Yes eight little Rednecks,
Hook to the front of the sleigh.

There's Jackson, Jones, Tritt & Kershaw,
Cash, Haggard, Adkins & Vince.
But there's one little person missing,
Marty is his name.

For a long, long time he hooked up nine,
To make his Christmas ride,
Now Marty's gone, he's so alone,
Charlie Daniels sat down and cried.

It's been a year and oh lordy dear,
How time flies when you're old.

(Twitty Birds speak: " Where have you been our lil' friend?")

(Marty replies: " I think I've frozen up my nose!")
