The Lyrics

The band Cinderella was discovered by Bon Jovi in the mid 80s and quickly labelled "Glam Rock". Well, they dressed that way and had the hairdos so they had it coming, but in my opinion they initially sounded much more like AC/DC. Their debut album "Night Songs" is one of those rare albums where every single song is solid and has a world class sing along chorus. "Gypsy Road" is the best song from the second album and though that album was less good as a whole the song itself is my favourite of theirs.
I used to plea, that she'd be home at three
Lord I tried
And now it seems, all those timely regimes
Are sure pissing my bride
Some smooth talking barkeep for a dollar put a drink in her hand
She's drinking all night, I end up as her homeward man

My tipsy broad can't make it home
She drinks all night, it's her weekend rite
My tipsy broad can't make it home
She keeps on drinking if there's beer - in sight

And she don't care, if I rip my hair
'Til I'm bold
I'll make the guess, that our bed caused regress
Cos my feet are too cold
Some smooth talking gigolo with dollars putting drinks in her hand
She's drinking him dry, just to leave the rat out offhand

My tipsy broad can't make it home
She leans contrite on a traffic light
My tipsy broad can't make it home
She turns to puking cos she feels uptight

Sometimes she wants a ride
Then I'm no armoured knight
Someday she must subside
JD's her guiding light
Ice cold - drunk slow

Drunk slow

Time to get on home

My tipsy broad - can't make it home
My tipsy broad - will order more

-R-r-r-r-r-r-r-refill!

My tipsy broad can't make it home
She drinks all night, and I'm sitting tight
My tipsy broad can't make it home
I keep on thinking on tomorrows fight
My tipsy broad can't make it home
I lock her out cos I like it quiet
My tipsy broad can't make it home
I sit here c-c-c-c-c-c-c-cursing
My tipsy broad
My tipsy broad
My tipsy broad
My tipsy broad
My tipsy broad

Well, big congrats on the first Cinderella parody here, Peter. Glam rock is perhaps the most overlooked genre on the site, and this is a fine addition. Great OS, and your lyrics sound more Cinderella than Cinderella's. 555.

BTW, the other night I ran across an album called "Resurrection" by former Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford. I gave it a listen, and it's very very good, though the second half fizzles out a bit. I recommend giving it a listen, and, uh, take the lyrics for what they are.
