The Lyrics

The two films referenced in this parody are "Lust for Life," starring Kirk Douglas as van Gogh, and "Pollock," starring Ed Harris as Jackson Pollock. I've added some lines beyond the number in the OS.
He heard not well 'cause knife had hacked one ear of two.
Applying thick pigment, hot red and coolest blue.
The guy was Dutch but lived in France a year or two.

(Vince van Gogh)

He lived on credit and his brother's sympathy.
Don McLean wrote about him a near symphony.
In "Lust for Life," Kirk played him, chewin' scenery.

(Vince van Gogh)
Post--paints, he spills 'em
(Vince van Gogh)--
Impressionism.

Vince van Gogh spilled the paint from a jar,
Vince van Gogh spilled the paint from a jar.

His pictures broke rules of art.

(That's Vincent van Gogh)

The man did some grand work in a cramped studio,
His fabulous landscapes done plein air, alfresco.*
In life he sold a single work--made no dough.

(Vince van Gogh)

Except on that one
(Vince van Gogh)
And only that one
(And painted no frescoes)

Vince van Gogh spilled the paint from a jar,
Vince van Gogh spilled the paint from a jar.

-----------------------------------------------------

Later time, he crashed his car; had too much wine, was also scarred.

Goes car off the road;
Car goes, no van goes.

Vintage-soaked, he spilled paint from afar,
Vintage-soaked, he spilled paint from afar.

Abstract--he dripped 'em--
Expressionism.

Vintage-soaked, he spilled paint from afar,
Vintage-soaked, Jack dripped paint from afar.

In "Pollock," Harris plays him,
Painting scenery.

In his time, he was a star; too bad he had to crash his car.

Vince was broke, lived for his art; guy died before he'd aged too far.

Both of them great painting stars,
Both of them played by great stars.

Vince van Gogh spilled the paint from a jar.
Vintage-soaked Jack dripped paint from afar.

*plein air: painting outdoors, in daylight; alfresco: outdoors
