Parody Song Title:

"Pop-up Ads"

Parody Written by:

Phil Nelson

I get up in the morning
And I check my email today
And I go to a few sites
Pop-up ads are just everywhere, hey
I ain't nothing but annoyed
Now I gotta close every one of them
It all takes time, they get business by annoyin'

Who would click on their ads
As they make you look at them right away
Closed the wrong thing, and
Now I gotta start this all over, hey

Messages pop up on the screen
Computer's gone, but can't get anything done
More pop-up ads now tick off me,
Wanna complain, yeah, 'cause it's not fun
But I never bother to
They won't ever change anyway
Why did they have to do this to
Annoy some so much that they'll pay?

Who would click on their ads
As they make you look at them right away
Closed the wrong thing, and
Now I gotta start this all over, hey

You sit around getting older
You get rid of the ads, back to the page
You get a chip on your shoulder
Why'd they have to annoy me today?

Stay on the internet too long
And you'll get really mad, yeah, that's right
Just disconnect it once you can
Don't you know there's more annoying ads tonight
Yeah, they keep making new ones
I'm sick of the ones that appear right on the page
Unwanted ads are no fun
They want you to look at them 'til you're aged

You can't go to pages without having ten zillion unwanted ads
Don't you just hate this,
They'll never become a thing of the past

What dummies and dimwits, would click on them and buy lots of stuff for their pad,
Give those ads notice
Make all of us pay by seeing pop-up ads
Make all of us pay by seeing pop-up ads
Make all of us pay by seeing pop-up ads
Make all of us pay by seeing pop-up ads
Annoying

The second verse should say "Computer's on."

(ABC) A subject I'm sure we can all relate to, like the hoardes of irrelevant comments popping up when they should be on an inthe00s message board. ;)

Imagine how much tax revenue would come in with a one thousanth of a cent tax for every spam in the country.

(ABC) "Closed the wrong thing, and Now I gotta start this all over, hey" .... yeah, when things are popping-up all over, it's easy to click the wrong "x", that's for sure.

P: (Unfortunately,) a universal theme to which we can all relate. Nicely done.

(ABC) Excellent job, Phil, and what just happened to me really punctuates it sharply, too! After I submitted my 5's here I started getting pop-ups a-plenty -- not kidding! Almost got bounced out and shut down here. Finally was able to close all of them thru "Task Manager". this one is in the mix for the "P" round.

(ABC) Good pacing. Not as humorous as it could have been.

Pop up ads are a necessary nuisance, or actually just a nuisance, but at any rate, your parody was good and it fit the song rather well.

Only one comment: use Opera, hit F12 and select "Open requested pop-up windows only" :-)
