Parody Song Title:

"Election City"

Parody Written by:

Michael Pacholek

For the record, it was Pierre Ambroise Francois Choderios de LaClos (1741-1803), author of "Dangerous Liaisons," who said, "Revenge is a dish best served cold." Not an old Klingon proverb, as Gene Roddenberry (or Quentin Tarantino) would have us believe. And while governing should not be, politics is often all about revenge. Brrrr...
Well, they dug up Saddam Hussein in Tikrit last night
and they blew up his house, too.
Down in the White House they're ready for a fight.
Let's go see what them right-wing boys can do.
But there's trouble bussing in from every State
and the GOP don't got relief.
Gonna be a rumble on Election Day
and the bumbling commander's hanging on by the skin of his teeth.

Well, Georgie Bush lies, baby, that's a fact
and the jobs lost due to his tax cut ain't comin' back.
Put your workboots on, 'cause this won't be pretty
and meet me tonight in Election City.

Well, we gotta do a job, that's putting Georgie away
'cause he's given us the debts that no honest man can pay.
So we threw out his old dad for a lack of trust
and we bought ourselves some tickets on that Bill Clinton bus.

Well, Georgie Bush lies, baby, that's a fact
and the men who died for his Iraq lies ain't comin' back.
Put your workboots on, 'cause this won't be pretty
and meet me tonight in Election City.

Now, Dick Gephardt has dropped, and Joe Lieberman's cold.
Howard Dean, forever will bray.
Kerry's goin' out where what matters is gold.
Politics is a dish that is best served cold.

Well, Georgie Bush lies, baby, that's a fact
and the jobs lost due to his tax cut ain't comin' back.

Well, you're looking for a job, but it's hard to find.
There's spinners and there's boozers in the White House this time.
I know you're tired of getting caught out on the losing end.
But I talked to Kerry last night, we can all be voters for him.

Well, Georgie Bush lies, baby, that's a fact
and the jobs lost due to his tax cut ain't comin' back.
Put your workboots on, 'cause this won't be pretty
and meet me tonight in Election City.

I think you've really brought out the darkly powerful tone Bruce intended. (One of my all-time favorite songs --doesn't get me invited to a lot of parties.) Oh yeah, that French guy you mention in the intro---wasn't he sewer guy who was Ed Norton's hero?
