The Lyrics

This song is about a friend's near death experience (NDE). It is said it is the most profound experience anyone can have in his or her life, and it will change you and your life thoroughly.
Om! Om!, Om!, Om!, Om!, Om!, Om!, Om!, Om!, Om!, Om!, Om!, Om!, Om!, Om!

Had me pass out of the heartbeat
Hauled swiftlly in ICU -
Found out I was but dead meat
Think I died all too soon

I went in long black tunnel
Saw at the end the light
Was in heaven -
I saw the light
Met God in His might!

'Cause it was NDE - I met my God
NDE - it was kinda odd
NDE - it is true what's told
NDE - watch Universe unfold!

I saw Jesus, friends and my old grandpa
I'm all changed now
I know God sure exists
that's what I know

So all you need is love
God and kinsmen;
Live good life in faith
see you in Heaven
I'm now back in life
So don't you start a strife

'Cause 'twas NDE - heard the angels' horn
NDE - and now I'm reborn
NDE - I felt love of God
NDE - I was out of bod'

NDE -.Om, Om, Om
NDE - Om, Om, Om
NDE -.Om, Om, Om
NDE - Om, Om, Om
NDE - I met my Lord (Om! Om! Om!)
NDE - And in Heaven I soared (Om! Om! Om!)
NDE - God is Love, I know (Om! Om! Om!)
NDE - Fear of death there's no!

that white light is either heaven or the total releasing of muscular stress - either way, a powerful experience by all accounts - nice job Susanna - 555

I hate it when this happens ( usually means I did something worthy of a Darwin Award mention at least ). 555. :)

Not totally sure about the pacing at some places but you'll get lotsa bonus points for doing this to a tune from the band that made "Highway to Hell" so here's 555 anyway, please tell me it was intentional.. ;-)

My friend had the NDE in the mid-nineties. My friend said it was a life-shaking experience, leading in literal re-birth. I dismissed the story originally as just a hallucination of a troubled brein - until a couple of years ago I read a study of near-death experiences. Many were almost identical to that of my friend - and a familiar pattern was apparent...

I thought: "Oh My God! This is dead serious stuff - literally!" and then I related them on my friend's experience. It led me into a religious crisis (see my songs "I'm on the road to Hell" and "Six blind men and elephant") and I started to take theology seriously.

No, I don't believe in the Old Testament avenging, vicious, hateful, petty, jealous god, but rather in the New Testament God, which is Love. That is also my friend's experience - the Universal Love.
