Looking for Scum
I spent a few days looking for U[sama].
Simple lies I told the public--never true
Playing a fool's game, hoping to win;
Telling those dumb lies and losing again.
Now I'm looking for scum in all the wrong places,
Looking at cards that show ugly faces,
Seeking the prize: looking for traces
Of what I'm dreaming of.
Hoping that some day we will uncover--
God bless a day we discover
A WMD trove.
Then I was alone, no allies in sight.
Did everything I could to get 'em in the fight.
I know when it started. . .don't know when it will end. . .
Perhaps if I had a better class of friends?
Still I'm looking for scum in all the wrong places,
Seek toxic drums at old army bases,
Seeking the prize: looking for traces
Of what I'm dreaming of.
Hoping that some day we will uncover--
God bless a day we discover
A WMD trove.
I fear voters might show me the door
If they realize I'm Cheney's whore.
Then, no more looking for scum in all the wrong places.
Should have looked at my crook cronies' faces.
Seeking the prize: the election race is
What I'm still dreaming of.
If that fails, I'll be on a book cover.
My memoir's readers will discover
That the real scum was Karl Rove.
I spent a few days looking for U[sama].

Good job, John, 555. On my Scottish Major-General parody today, did your vote register? Since you're new to Amiright, you might not know that you have to record votes and comments separately. Clicking on the vote-radio-buttons and then writing a comment and clicking "Submit Comments" will post your comment but not your vote.....but you may already know that - if so, forgive me!
Oops! Thanks for pointing that out.
Either you're making fun of the original singer or you're just a moron, but it's WAYLON, not Waylong.
