Song Parodies -> I Love Scoobie
| Original Song Title: | "I Love To Boogie" |
| Original Performer: | T-Rex |
| Parody Song Title: | "I Love Scoobie" |
| Parody Written by: | Phil Alexander |
Before anybody points out the missing syllable in the title line, if you sing it with a little "uh" on the end of the "love" (to kind of make the word "love" into two syllables), it works perfectly: Marc Bolan kind of swallows the "to" when he sings this, so I reckon I can get away with it...
I love Scooby
I love Scooby
Shaggy and Scooby
Scooby-snack Scooby
I love Scooby
And it's Scooby-doo night
Shaggy and Daphne and Velma and Fred
Mystery Inc will always getcha street cred
Unmasking the bad guy in ten minutes flat
And they got a dog who's the coolest of cats
Oh, I love Scooby
Yes, I love Scooby and it's Scooby tonight
I love Scooby
I love Scooby
Scaredy cat Scooby
Shaggy and Scooby
I love Scooby
And it's Scooby tonight
Shaggy and Scooby always look like they're high
Check out their stoned out, puffy-out eyes
A little paranoia, but they're so laid back
I ain't guessin' what's in a Scooby Snack
I love Scooby
Yes, I love Scooby and it's Scooby tonight
I love Scooby
I love Scooby
Stoned out Scooby
Scooby-snack Scooby
I love Scooby
And it's Scooby tonight
I love Scooby (Puff... aah)
I love Scooby (Puff... aah)
Spliffin' Scooby
Scooby-snack Scooby
I love Scooby
And it's Scooby tonight
I love Scooby (Puff... aah)
(Repeat to fade)

He-He! Two verses are really not enough for a homage to old Scoob. I liked it though. *Goes into nostalgia mode* :-)
Philbo, you would go and pick one of the few T.Rex songs that I barely know! No, I went and listened to it - the pacing is a bit difficult with a song this fast, but overall, quite good! 4-5-5.
Snaggletoth - I agree, but there are only two verses in the song: I try to get my parodies to be karaoke-able (a dreadful word, but you know what I mean), and making up lots more ain't allowed (I had about four verses worth of couplets)
Merry - I've done one to "Ride a White Swan", too... which T-Rex would you prefer?

I was trying to think of something to parody to 'Ride a White Swan' myself, but the only stuff I could come up with would have to go on 'whatfreaks'! ;-)
