| Parody Song Title: | "I'm So Unusual" |
| Parody Written by: | Rick Cormier |
I'm So Unusual
I'm so unusual. See my pantsthey're wicked tight
They're so tight, you can tell that I'm hanging to the right
And in my platform shoes I wear lifts for added height
I'm so unusual, I perm my hair I don't wear underwear
I'm so unusual. With the ladies, I'm no dunce
I'm like an animal, like a tiger when he hunts
I don't like single girls, I like two or three at once
I'm so unusual
I think of long ago
When I had my own show
And women waited in a line
Now there's just regret
I just can't seem to get
Off of this lazy ass of mine
It's so unusual to think back to younger days
It used to be so cool when the girls threw lingerie
But time went by and not everything improved with age
It's so unusual now women throw Depends on stage
whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh whoa oh
I'm so unusual. See my pantsthey're wicked tight
They're so tight, you can tell that I'm hanging to the right
And in my platform shoes I wear lifts for added height
I'm so unusual, I perm my hair I don't wear underwear
I'm so unusual. With the ladies, I'm no dunce
I'm like an animal, like a tiger when he hunts
I don't like single girls, I like two or three at once
I'm so unusual
I think of long ago
When I had my own show
And women waited in a line
Now there's just regret
I just can't seem to get
Off of this lazy ass of mine
It's so unusual to think back to younger days
It used to be so cool when the girls threw lingerie
But time went by and not everything improved with age
It's so unusual now women throw Depends on stage
whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh whoa oh

Very good spoof on Tom....555
At first i thought 'God, not another "fat" parody', but then upon further reading it turned out to be an enjoyable reading experience! Masterfully written. 555
Clever clothes close. 5s
Very good spoof, almost the kind of thing one might have heard on SNL, or Spitting Image from the BBC.
I can assure you this is my own work.
I meant that as a compliment. :)
In that case, please accept my apology and, thank you for the compliment. :-)
It's not unusual to get 5's for this... :)
loadsa fun!! 555
What's new, pussycat? This song and its five-vote!
(SOTM) Wow...really good for a rookie. 555, very well done. Welcome to amiright!
Thank you, Charlie, Agrimorfee, MrMacPhisto, Michael, Kristof, John, DAK and Airfarcewon ! If anyone is interested in hearing a recording of this parody, go here: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/6/rickcormier.htm I downloaded a midi file from the internet, enhanced it a bit and tried to sound like Tom Jones.
I'm sorry, the recording is here: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/6/rickcormiermusic.htm
(SOTM) Especially liked the depends part. Thorough!
(SOTM) I can hear Tom Jones singing now -- "What's old, pussycat, ooh-awoah-awaoh, it's me."
(SOTM) He should add your version to his stage act!
(SOTM) I esp. liked the line..."now women throw Depends on stage " lol good one.
(SOTM) Second line made me actually laugh out loud for real!
Some old fashioned 5s.
(SOTM) great idea and pacing Rick - I love it when the parody turns the OS back onto the artist - 555
(SOTM) You truly are unusual.
I keep picturing Carlton from Fresh Prince of Bel Air singing this =)
(SOTM) Very well done. I remember when 'sex bomb, sex bomb' first came on the radio I heard 'sex, bum sex' .
I actually saw TJ perform once, at a resort. That Depends line isn't far off. Very funny though, and I liked the recording so much I listened to all four songs. Very impressive; you have a remarkable voice. Well done.
(SOTM) Solid imagery here.
Great stuff. The "single girls" line is classic. And, wow, tremendous job with the recording.
Here's some properly aged 5's to thrown on stage.
SOTM--this is FABulous, Rick...very funny!
(ABC3) same ol' same ol'...
(ABC3I) See above... actually, it seems I missed this gem when it was first posted. I don't know if you intended it this way, but this was a funny satire on Tom Jones (at least, what I know of him). Judging from Claude's comment, I guess I'm correct. 555
Belated thanks to Guy, Rex, Melhi, Adagio, JD, Peter, Stu, Scathe, Jeff, Luke, Claude, Mike, Spaff, Tim and Arwen.
Thank you to the more recent commenters: Agrimorfee and Red Ant.
Jack, this was my second submission to Amiright, posted 3 days after my first. Yes, I intended it as a satire on Tom Jones.

abc nice work .you and tom personal friends ?
(ABC3)LOL this rules, Rick 555
Is this about some congressman? (lol)--MM
(ABC) See above and look out beloooooowwwww!
(ABC3-I) see above, and I repeat, it was a very clever spoof but even cleverer to make it about old Tom himself
(ABC) What Stu said. =D
See above, hanging to the right, lol!
ABC...funny Funny FUNNY, Rick! I just love it!
TOS is actually from the 60s, but this is an awesome parody.
