The Lyrics

This is an homage. Original song on YouTube

Spell? No! Not we
They’re flocked around us in a long, long line
Mondays I think: a bunch, a new-sprung throng
They’re heaped so high it’s causin’ flashback: Tong
Maybe we shouldn’t shrink from true opine

Scream Jay, do
O.S. is menacing it’s such a dry blue-hoo
It snakes; erratic, sort of drawl impaired
It grates; the vocal’s guaranteed to scare
We find we can’t help reeling third of way through

It's a genre that we... thought we’d do well to flee
Famed: together Arndt and J.B.’s territ’ry

Twain do be
Gung-ho: apply word-smithin’; niche they would:
Spells churnin’ out they be incantaphile
So without effort seem they breezly compile
Re-penned them quite, bit in-sync they’ve stood

Duo’s courtin’ to be ‘bout at a thousand and three
Could endeavour Guiness-y panopoly

Think, not we
Noooo, we shall those Spells bequeath you: heaps accrued
We’ll pen a round o’ Celias once in a while
Or pip about some sheep for fleecin’aphiles
But Spell? Bow out, JaR & Inc.’s too good

Nice tribute! Did JAB and RDA hit the combined 1,000 yet?

No, I am at 483 and JAB is slightly behind me. I could reach 500 first this week if I chose to but am feeling down right now. Maybe Monday. Can't speak for JAB. Anyway 555 on this parody of our parodies :)

Love that work "Incantaphile". Is that related to the Spanish "No se puede cantar"? The reference to William Tong brings back memories of the time I first found this site.

Clever subbing all the way through. 'Incantaphile' stopped me in my tracks too. If only ol' Screaming Jay knew what he'd started. He probably does. I put some fives on you. Oh, I'll put a spell on you too - panoply - or was that a play on monopoly?

LL - thanks. I was pretty happy with incantaphile myself. As for the other, I guess I'm going to have to go and invest in a paper dictionary, since the online ones keep lying to me. First mein, and now this. Sigh.
