I wrote this in preparation for an interleague series between the Yankees and The Other Team. With the result of the 2000 World Series, it seems pointless to make fun of the boys from aptly-named Flushing. But "pointless" doesn't necessarily mean "unnecesscary." True, the firing of Bobby Valentine makes the song slightly out of date, but the question still remains: Whose idea was it to put Shea Stadium next to LaGuardia Airport?

Does your claim that the Yankees are #1 just refer to New York City? Isn't that a little elitist for you, Michael? After all, the Yankees - the best team money can buy - lost in the 2001 World Series and did not get to the 2002 World Series. Actually, I think that your parody does an excellent job of humorously showing us non-New Yorkers the intensity of the NYC baseball rivalry. 5-5-5.
Can't stand the Yankees, but the parody was just fine. Can't stand the Mets either for that matter, that's what made it bearable :) Braves fan here, so that would explain it.
none of you have probably heard from me much because my reviews are usually from bands like good charlotte and linkin park and system of a down and i am usually very tough and dont say nice things. but this song is the first song that i LOVED. it was funny and just GREAT. even though i am a mets fan i still thought it was hilarious
