Song Parodies -> I Just Can't Get To Coruscant
| Original Song Title: | "You Can't Always Get What You Want" |
| Original Performer: | The Rolling Stones |
| Parody Song Title: | "I Just Can't Get To Coruscant" |
| Parody Written by: | Mikey Squirrel |
I saw her today at the Cantina, a blaster right by her side
She had to get to the pod race arena, and said that she needed a ride
Chorus:
I just can't get to Coruscant, I just can't get to Coruscant
I just can't get to Coruscant
If the force is with you, you might get through, the whole galaxy
Oh yea
I went out on Hoth's frozen wastelands, and I found myself on a Tauntaun
There was Wampas all over the place, man
If I stayed I would have froze off my damned wontons
(Chorus)
Oh, baby
I went down to the swamps of Dagobah, but my ship sank in the muck
I met up with a wise old Jedi master, and he wished me a lot of luck
I decided to fly out to Cloud City, just to get out of the asteroids
Leia said she was not a committee
And Lando asked me, "what happened to your droid?'
Then I told him
(Chorus)
Oh yes
The whole galaxy, yea, oh baby
I saw her again on a forest moon, on a speeder bike she did ride
I knew we would meet up with the Ewoks soon
Well, then they made us part of the tribe
(Chorus)
You might get through, you might get through, the whole galaxy
She had to get to the pod race arena, and said that she needed a ride
Chorus:
I just can't get to Coruscant, I just can't get to Coruscant
I just can't get to Coruscant
If the force is with you, you might get through, the whole galaxy
Oh yea
I went out on Hoth's frozen wastelands, and I found myself on a Tauntaun
There was Wampas all over the place, man
If I stayed I would have froze off my damned wontons

Oh, baby

Probably the first use of "coruscant" in a parody. Nice job.
I can't tell if you're a Star Wars fan or not, Mikey. You seem to know a lot about the Trilogy, but are you trying to make fun of Star Wars?
Nicely done...5s
YES! I am a big Star Wars fan. Like, one of those die-hard, first generation, super-ultra geek obsessive fans. I practically know the whole saga inside out. The SW parodies I have done (and will do) are not making fun of them, but are more of an homage. I think its sweet that I can combine my love for Star Wars with my love for parodies, and I thank you all for enjoying what I have done.
A recording, I want! 555
Hmm! Clever you are.
I think it's now safe to say that "Star Wars" parodies, on the average, are better than "Star Trek" parodies.
555:)LOL
(SOTM) I guess Win-Gone Spaff's forceful light-side-sabering last month might work against you here Mikey, but kudos for having the balls to put this one up in the competition anyway.
[SOTM] Sorry, Mikey, but I DKTOS, but form reading it, it looks like a well-written and humerous parody : )
[SOTM] Well done!
(SOTM) I know TOS but not the movies, though I'll try to rent 'em before I vote on the thread. Still very good Mikey.
SOTM--what kind of a nerd would submit a Star Wars themed parody in the Song of the Month contest? Um...wait a second...I mean...GREAT JOB! ; )
SOTM....Know the OS well, but haven't seen any SW movies, sorry.
(SOTM) The farce is strong with this one!
see, not following this stuff in my childhood is coming back to haunt me. ill have to watch the series with this song in mind.
(SOTM) Good idea, good execution, enjoyable
(SOTM) Well done, I love Star Wars, so this hits the mark for me. Clever idea.
Thank you for all the positive comments guys.. I guess I kinda took a chance submitting a Star Wars parody after Spaff won with SW last month. But... I still like it, even I don't have any votes yet. But thanks anyways!
(SOTM) Still nicely done.
(sotm) I feel so out of it with these Star Wars parodies, but it is obviously well-written Mikey
What Arwen said. Heh heh. Love the original; love the wontons line. And the Rolling Stones bear a striking resemblance to the cantina band, don't they?
(SOTM) See above!
(SOTM) Star Wars? This is about Star Wars? Oh, then it gets 5's!!
Another big thumbs up... and Mikey, don't worry about not getting votes in a SOTM: there's so many good songs to choose from, it's very hard getting any in there.
Coulda sworn I was here already. Funny and catchy in it's delivery. Nice one, Mikey.
(SOTM) parodies like this make me feel ignorant in the ways of the force. Impressive, this is.
(SOTM) can't believe I missed this one, Mikey...excellent! 555
Sorry I haven't been responding to you all as I know I should, but I've been one busy little squirrel. I'm not even sure if I I'll be entering SOTM next month. We'll see. Regardless, I appreciate all the comments you have all left for me on all my parodies. Thank you all.
I thought this would be about French breakfasts... great work!
