The Lyrics

If you're thinking of doing it to "Light My Fire," "Love Me Two Times" or "Touch Me," remember that it was Robbie Krieger who wrote the lyrics for those.
(long instrumental intro)

Sailors in the storm.
Sailors in the storm.
Onto this ship we board.
Our cargo's iron-ored.
The Lake Superior wave
will send us to our grave.
Sailors in the storm.

There's a killer in the wind.
It's got us squirming as we've sinned.
This ain't no holiday.
We won't make Whitefish Bay.
On this ship we took a ride
and twenty-nine will die.
Killer in the wind.
Yeah...

(instrumental break)

Girls, you're gonna miss your men.
Girls, you're gonna miss your men.
Your faces and your names
they're all that now remains.
Does anyone there know
where love of God will go?
Gonna miss your men.
Yeah...

(long instrumental break)

Sailors in the storm.
Sailors in the storm.
Into legend we sailed
because our mission failed.
Superior, it's said
will not give up its dead.
Sailors in the storm.

Sailors in the storm...
Sailors in the storm...
Sailors in the storm...
Sailors in the storm...

(instrumental close)

I've done the OS and this particular theme, so I can truly appreciate this effort.

A great improvement over the original, and a very appropriate melody for the subject. Now that John Barry has quit casting his "Spells", it looks like Edmund Fitzgerald is becoming the daily feature.

Too short to get in the cook and the witch of November, though. Otherwise, a 'swell' job.

Nice mood setting, but as Merry said, a little short to do a great deal with. In such situations, if the tune's easy to follow, I add a couple of verses of my own.
