This is a parody I've been trying to write for a while now, when I first conceived the idea I was going to tie it in to the newest Harry Potter book, but that kind of got old and wouldn't make for a very good spoof. So I kept the title, but gave it an entirely new spin.
Who's hooking up, and who goes to jail?
These are the tabloids found in the mail
I don't give a crap about the alien kid
Or what the World's Smartest Monkey just did
I'm sick of all this gratuitous hype
If it keeps up I might have to start a fight
So Armageddon's a few days away
And stocks will crash down? Why, you don't say.
In-toast pictures of Smokey the Bear
Who sends me these, and do they think I care?
I'm sick of all this gratuitous hype
Gonna burn these rags in my backyard tonight
(instrumental accompanied by sounds of ripping paper and trash-can plunks)
Movie director makes scandalous flicks
Is Jacko guilty? The jury said "Nix"
What has become of crosswords, news
And some fresh editorial views, yeah?
I'm sick of all this gratuitous hype
They've got one good use–and that is as butt wipes
Gonna destroy the hype, tonight
I'm sick of all this gratuitous hype
Gonna put a bomb in the mailbox tonight
I'm sick of all this...must burn up all the hype
I'm sick of all this...
(fade out as I maniacally destroy tabloids)

ABC4 (G) On of my favorite tabloid eyecatcher at the grocery store check out station was `Headless Body Found in Topless Bar`. I really liked this one. I'm surprised that the voting was so low and no one left a comment. View counter is showing 18 at this time.
(ABC4) This must have been an early one of yours Cat, with the lack of votes. DKTOS, so I will take an assumption that this paced well, written well as always.
(ABCG) Good for what you had to work with .. . one big question, what's with the 1's and such? I really wish those who vote would leave comments, not that I myself don't appreciate the votes, but when someone has an itch to triple one a parody, you have to wonder why. . .
(ABC4G) Triple ones? On a Cat parody? Has the universe imploded yet? Here's some 5's to counteract them...not that this parody doesn't need them anyway!
Great idea... From reading this and your Fox Network parody... You REALLY, REALLY don't like the news.
(ABC4-G) I concur with my esteemed colleagues, Cat...it's a travesty that this hasn't got more support. I DO like tabloids for their car-crash value, and as resource material for my parody writing. 555+
(ABC4G) This was a Cars song I didn't know Cat (maybe only BIG fans - like you - know it!)- quite punky - anyway this is a very good theme for parodying, and some of your examples were hilarious, like "Or what the World's Smartest Monkey just did" - 555
