The Lyrics

My little tribute to the most prolific voice actor of all time. He's not at the top the "All Time Top 100 Stars at the Box Office" list for nothin', ya know. This also knocks off another Epic 40 song for me. Props to Red Ant and his parody of the same song for the layout and all the little vocal bits that my copy of the lyrics didn't have!
(What's goin' on - dude?)
(What's goin' on - dude?)
(What's goin' on - dude?)
I was watchin' TV
(But what else is - new?)
That Dexter's Laboratory
(I love that show - cool!)
It was time for the credits
(Who does the voice - who?)
And I saw Frank Welker!

(Ahh.....ahhhh.....ahhhh.....ahhhhh!)
Frank Welker!
(Ahh.....ahhhh.....ahhhh.....ahhhhh!)
Frank Welker!

[instrumental bit]

(Cool!)
(Cool!)
Watching Hercules
(Who?)
And nobody was sounding Greek
(Poo!)
That Pegasus - like him a lot
(Cool!)
He acts quite like a dog
(Cool!)
Yes, he makes me laugh
(Cool!)
He's voice by Frank Welker!
(Who?)

(Ahh.....ahhhh.....ahhhh.....ahhhhh!)
Frank Welker!
(Ahh.....ahhhh.....ahhhh.....ahhhhh!)
FRANK WELKER!

[another instrumental bit]

(Fa-rank...Welker)
(Fa-rank...Welker)
Revenge of the Fallen
(Ooh ya!)
He is Ravage
(Cool, bra!)
Soundwave also
(Hoo-rah!)
Grindor also
(Umm, wha?)
Devastator, too
(Boo-yah!)
He is Reedman, too!
(Umm, wha?)

Frank, Frank
Frank Welker!

Wow, wow

[another instrumental bit]

(Who else does he - do?)
(Who else does he - do?)
Cross the TV waves
(Who else does he - do?)
He's there voicin'
(Who else does he - do?)
Voicin' Scooby Doo
(Scooby Dooby - Doo!)
Voicin' that Fred
(The ascot man? Cool!)
Nibbler he's voicin'
(What, Leela's pet? Cool!)
Ain't that awesome?
(Yeah, totally - cool!)

(Ahh.....ahhhh.....ahhhh.....ahhhhh!)
Frank Welker!
(Ahh.....ahhhh.....ahhhh.....ahhhhh!)
FRANK WELKER!

[ANOTHER instrumental bit]

(Fa-rank...Welker)
(Fa-rank...Welker)
(Ooh.. ah!)
(Ooh.. ah!)
Abu he's voicin'
(Ooh.. ah!)
Rajah he's voicin'
(Ooh.. ah!)
Voices makin'
(Ooh.. ah!)
Me a-shakin'
(Ooh.. ah!)

Frank, Frank
Frank Welker!

Wow, wow

[God, ANOTHER instrumental bit?]

Welker!
(Frank!)
Welker!
(Frank!)

Go Frank!

On Tom and Jerry
SpongeBob Squarepants
Giant clams he's voicin'
Swear that I'm not kiddin'

He was in both Gremlins
One and two

Voicin' a mogwai
Voicin' Stripe, it's true!

Brain? Mad Cat? That's him
Doctor Claw? That's him
That's unprocessed Soundwave*

He was in DuckTales
(Whee-hoo!)
Also Mario Paint
(Bleep bleep bleep!)
Curious George? That's him
(Yeahhhhhhhh!)
Goddard? Also him
(Bark!)
Garfield? Also him
(Oooh, cool!)
You know what they call him?
(WHAAAAAT?!)
Man of a thousand voices
(Aw yeah yeah yeah yeah whoo!)
All cartoons have him
(Whaaaa?)
THEY ALL HAVE FRANK WELKER IN!
(Yaaaa!)
Frank Welker!
Frank Welker!

[The outro, FINALLY]
*Franky's Soundwave voice is just his Dr. Claw voiced with effects applied to it, for both G1 and ROTF Soundwave. Reedman is the thin bot that Ravage vomits up in ROTF. Grindor is the helicopter guy from ROTF (who's not the same helicopter bot from the first film). And yeah, he voiced the Giant Clams in an episode of SpongeBob.

Frank Welker has been around...most any cartoon character that gibbers, squawks and squeals in a cute way is usually him. Surprised you didn'tt include his work as "Slimer" on The Real Ghostbusters.

This is one of my least favorite Epic 40 songs, it was also under-rated when we made the original list (Level 9, boy were we off) Anyway, good job on this horrible OS, I look forward to your continued goal at completing the Epic 40, It was tough--and I'm sure Matty will soon join me as people who have completed it (I feel weird being the only one) but I think you are probably already in 3rd, so keep it up, maybe some day we'll have enough people complete it to get it as recognized as the (ahem) "Big 7"

I loved Dexter's Lab! Never knew about this guy until I read your parody today. Well done introducing him to the world. And yes, as soon as "Harry" is done I plan on finishing the Epic 40 and moving on to the next insane project.

SOTM-JUL-10

Thanks for the education. If I ever need a voice over I'll know who to call upon. Fine tribute to a great voice technician. I looked him up on the WWW. I didn't realize just how much this guy did. Well worth the effort to write a parody about.

The man of a thousand voices meets the band of a thousand wacky lyrics, quite a dish, though I didn't realize the original was that long.
Mark Scotti - August 15, 2010 - Report this comment
SOTM - Myself, I can only do 555 voiceovers, and they all LOL for this gem.
Andria - August 17, 2010 - Report this comment
Excellent... I am familiar with his voice from my parents using the TV as a babysitter when I was a kid. One of your best parodies, about a great talent. I can talk like Donald Duck, or in falsetto, like Marge Simpson, or like Luanne from King of the Hill. 5s.

Oops... the above comment was supposed to have "SOTM July 2010" in it. Please forgive the faux pas.

Thanks for the shout-out, Pie-man. Yep, this is a bastard of an OS to do, well paced and great tribute to Frank. "And nobody was sounding Greek" lol.

I have to share this with Frank Welker fans and neophytes... http://mkbmemorial.com/FWHp/ . Apparently it is a fanpage; look for his parody of "Twelve Days Of Christmas", it is awesome.
